I tell my dad the same thing all the time. He needs to th8nk and be cautious before he does certain things. Next time he breaks his back it might be more than some fractured vertebra.

I sent him this in a text a while back

Honestly, this is me right now. The saddest part of all, I'm turning 39 in three months! My body isn't supposed to be this bad! I have a compartment IV entrapment (I think that's what it is; someone with better knowledge of medicine can describe it better for me), I can't run without feeling like I'm about to rip my heart in two (walking is fine, running is ow!), not made any better by the fact that I'm on blood pressure medication, and every couple of hours, my body decides that something's very wrong and sends pain signals just because I took a step on a flat surface! Oh, and apparently my libido has been pretty low since my wife got pregnant. So yeah!

I’m trying to do Dry January for this month.  Guess what?  IT SUCKS.

Day 5. Only 26 more to go.

Dry January

Yeah, NO!

I don't drink everyday. I might go a week or two without a drink. But, when I get that itch, I scratch it.

I wish you luck with your January task.

I’ve been in the hospital for a neurological work up. I’ve been having petit mal seizures the last few months. The one yesterday put me in an ambulance. So I’m going to be here for a while. They’re going to do a CT scan, a brain MRI, and a EEG. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it. It doesn’t appear to be life-threatening. My vitals are stable and I’m under observation. Love you all.

hoping it is a minor fix and you get out soon. Trust your doctors and seduce a nurse while there.
get well soon

Have you been diagnosed with epilepsy or anything else before, or is this fairly new?

Between you, Bob, and Rick, I'll soon be in the hospital myself from all the worry  :emot_laughing:

Best wishes to you Toe. Glad to hear it's not thought to be life threatening. I know how much the support of KBers has helped me get through all my problems. I'm sure you'll find the same support.

Remember, if you get too fresh with the nurses they do have the ability to jab you with a shot that will just knock you out. ;D

Three times in the last 60 days. Completely new.

Oh god PH, that is horrible!!!  Please keep us updated if you can, and I hope they find a cause to it, and provide a successful treatment.

You men of KB are gonna make me lose my hair from worry!

Love you PH :emot_kiss:

Get the treatment you need, Toe. The community cares.

As for what ruined my day - the amount of incomplete message coming out of Canada's department of International Affairs regarding the violence in Sinaloa state in Mexico after the arrest of Ovidio Guzman, El Chapo's son. The information being reported by the Canadian media (and quite possibly American media) is that Canadians in Mexico (the whole country) should shelter in place. In reality, the shelter in place recommendation is only for the state of Sinaloa.

FWIW, Mrs JBRG and I are 100% safe sitting here in Baja California Sur. The prime repercussion is the ferries between La Paz and the mainland have been shut down until this crap is dealt with. Both ferry destinations on the mainland are in the state of Sinaloa. No ferries running means the groceries and such have to take the long way around by road (2-3 day trip) instead of a 10 (from Topolobampo) or 12 (from Mazatlan) hour ferry trip.

That is all.

I'm happy to hear everything's come back as normal, but then that also makes the seizures more of a mystery  :o ;D

So far so good...

Unsatisfied libido may be the cause of your "short circuit"...??

But seriously, I hope they do find the cause and it better not be from this last test!
