So I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Was tired and fell asleep in my chair.

About 5:30, a big crash woke me up. Wife had.fallen by the front door. She tried to scoot on her butt to the kitchen where she could pull herself up. She'd also bumped her head when she fell and we decided to call 911.

Within minutes the house was full of firemen and EMTs. Even our cat was concerned and got on his table in the kitchen to make sure everyone took care of Mom. One of the fireman gave him pets to reassure kitty.

Two firemen picked her up and with someone on each side of her she was able to walk to the front of the house out the door and down the front steps where there was a stretcher. She was able to get on that on her own and they strapped her down and loaded her in the ambulance.

Meanwhile two neighbors came over and checked on me. They insisted I eat something before I go to the hospital. One ran home and was back with some pasta with green stuff on it. It was good.

I shoved some down my face then got dressed to go to the hospital. Just blocks away the phone rang. Broke my rule about answering the phone in the car and it was the wife.  She was ready to go. Had her in the car a few minutes later and home we went.

Still had enough pasta to feed her too. And we got through the night with no more excitement.

So we start a new year. Just see if we can make it better. :D

And we got through the night with no more excitement.

Usually, I could see where having a night without excitement could ruin the following day, but in this case I'm just happy to hear she wasn't hurt too bad  ;D

Wow Bob. So lucky it wasn’t worse, and so lucky you were there to dial 911. What if that had happened while you were still in the hospital?

So glad to hear everything worked out alright.  You made the comment about her black eye and the neighbors looking at you.  Several years ago my mom fell and hit her eye.  She was bleeding and the area was swelling like crazy.  I took her to the hospital, and the ER receptionist asked what happened.  Without thinking, I said, "Ah, she pissed me off."  Then, without missing a beat, my mom says, "Yeah, but I deserved it."

The sense of humor in our family is so fucked up.  To this day I can't figure out why the lady never called security.

Yeah my wife and are are the same. Over the years we've learned to add filters before we speak.

Wife did have the crew laughing out in the kitchen being her spunky self.

Feeling even worse today. Had to call in sick. Im wearing a sweater, a hoodie, sweatpants, two pairs of socks, and covered in a pile of blankets, and im just starting to warm up.

Got a text from Lindsey asking if I was sick, when i said yes, feel like death. All she sent back was a "sorry".  Thats it, one word nothing else, which leads me to believe her husband is the reason shes even asking. I swear that arrogant bitch thinks she does no wrong! Still love her though 🤬

Sending hugs, virtual chicken soup and wishing you quick recovery. I'd offer some body heat, but I don't need anything else wrong with  me. No doubt there's other volunteers out there.

Get well soon and have good thoughts...like the Pack now having a shot at the playoffs after rubbing the Vikings collective noses in the Lambeau Field dirt.

Oh no. But glad she was released to go home already.
I'm just worried about the head bump. Keep an eye on her and contact the doctor at the first sign of any oddities in her.
Love you both.

And I hope you get better soon S.   Sounds like what I had and it took a week.  First 3 days were the worst though.  Stay hydrated with lots of fluids during this battle.

Watch for signs of oddities. Well, we're both pretty goofy. That will be hard to tell.  :D Maybe if she starts acting normal, I'll start to worry. :emot_laughing:

She did get a good check up and the Doctor assured her she had a brain. He was a funny guy I guess. But yes, I know it's important to keep a close watch. Thanks for the care and concern. :emot_kiss:

I was sick for 6 weeks with some kind of croupy cough, RSV, LRI thing. And I was absolutely shivering one minute and burning up the next. Lots of dressing and undressing. Cock of the day stuff.

Hope you are feeling better. Go Pack!  :emot_kiss:

Got stuck in the alley trying to get to the VA for appointments. Neighbor had cleared my driveway but as soon as I hit the alley I was stopped cold by the snow.

I went back to the garage and grabbed a shovel hoping to get the car free. I did some scooping when bam, down.ony.butt I went. As if that wasn't bad enough, I couldn't get back up on my own.

Neighbor came down after helping get another vehicle .out. She was about to help me up and chased me back to the garage, insisting I grab my cane.

She and and neighbor went to work on the stuck car and soon it was back in the garage. Went in and notified VA that I need everything rescheduled.

Uff-da Bob. You have to be more careful dontcha know! I mean geez louise, why not call you neighbors and ask them for help? Im pretty sure they would have no problem giving you a hand if and when they can. Don't be such a stubborn man love.

Yes you're right. Gotta keep acting like I was still in my 60s, young and spry. So neighbors just got done clearing the sidewalks AGAIN. They're trying to stay ahead of the snow.

They also took the recycling and garbage out to the alley for me.

Have I mentioned what good neighbors I have.  :D

Gotta keep acting like I was still in my 60s, young and spry.

I’m in my 60s, and there’s nothing young and spry about it. I have a lawyer friend who refused to accept his age. And he made a point of jogging every single day. Long distances. Really pushing himself. And then he traveled, worked long hours, and did a lot of other things. So a few months ago he’s at a conference, got up to give a presentation, and passed out in front of a room full of people. Facedown on the floor passed out.

They rushed him to the hospital, and the diagnosis was dehydration, potassium deficiency, and exhaustion. He didn’t have a heart attack, his body just gave out.

I had a long talk with him. “Consider that your check engine light coming on. You’ve got to slow down.“

He’s giving up the daily runs in 90°+ heat. But he did buy a Peloton for Christmas. I think he would do better to give up the whiskey and cigars.
