After the weirdest Thanksgiving dinner in my history, today I woke up alone. The ladies in my family and my wife's family plus our close friends decided to do the black friday assault on shopping thing, spurned on by the very well to do members of our families. I thought I was free and clear, since I do not like going out while my tummy is still full from yesterday. So I wake up, scratch the usual itches, and decide to door dash me some breakfast. Stupid me. I ordered the two burrito meal, and only got one burrito. Okay, refund time. It seems every time I door dash anything, I get screwed, and not in the pleasurable happy fun time way. So since I am free from work until monday, since upper bosses used the break to have a cleaning company to deep clean the office building of that weird smell that everyone but they know what it is, I decided at six this morning to head to the nice coffee shop for a good coffee. Went to grab my keys and they are gone. Odd.
On the fridge is a note "Writer, borrowed the SUV for shopping!" Cute. Could have told me before hand, because I planned on taking it out to bother my friends in their throes of turkey comas. So I had to drive my wifes "cute" pastel pink kia sophia to the coffee shop. Now I have no hangups on pink or her car, save for one issue. Its too damned small for me to drive. So I get there, and of course the barista is the one I always seem to get, a real chatty kathy. good kid, makes a mean cup of coffee. I pay, get my drink, chat a bit and leave. Guess who passes me by? My wife, on her way home to drop off the first of what seems to be many loads of stuff. She berates me a little in the parking lot for taking her car without calling her. I can only laugh at this point. So I head home, and they are gone again, and I am supposed to start moving the purchases to the basement to be sorted.
And now its 9 am, and my wife and family is on their third trip out. Why does this ruin my day? Black Friday has always been a bad day for me. My mom used to drag us kids every year to the stores and sales. I never liked it, because it would be dinner time before we got home and it was always boring to me. If anything else happens today, I will update this post.
