The guy next door has set up outside lighting to illuminate his yard.  Why?  Oh, I don't know.  Security?  As a landing strip?  For night volleyball?   I don't know.  Security I guess, but tonight he's using it so he can leaf blow.

I just wanted a nice fire  with s'mores and a drink in the backyard but he's ruining it with his f*in floodlights on while using his f*ing leaf blower.  It's 10:15 at night.  OMFG

Dan told him to shut that shit off and he said sorry.  Stopped leaf blowing  but his lights are still on.  Clueless.

Last four days I was near dead. Apparently the human body can in fact reject water along with anything else. Had that stomach bug that's been going around. Went to the er yesterday afternoon because my fuck it bucket was overflowing and I could not take it anymore. Fun facts I learned in the ER.

I finally got a dose of morphine, because my back was killing me.
Did you know you can get benign tumors on your adrenal glands? I did not know that. And they usually stay inactive if you dont fuck up like heavy drinking or smoking.
You can have to low sodium levels? Which creates a paradox because I am low salt, due to high blood pressure, so it seemed odd to me.

So after beating the devil possessed girl from the exorcist, because once i was empty it became weaponized. The thought of food or drink or any smell of any thing edible it would send me firing stomach acid apparently, since I have not eaten anything for three days, and taking tiny baby sips of water or gatorade.

They would not let me leave until I ate something, but they put in a liquid anti nausea medicine that I will marry if I could. So the snack they could only bring me is my mortal enemy. Lets say between this and the blandest cake ever, I would eat the cake.

Sugar free pudding. And a glass of mixed gatorade. like powder to water mix.

I told them to just wheel me to the morgue, I will fill out the paperwork on the way.

Just eat the damned pudding.

Dont wanna.

Eat it.

Cant make me.

Yes, they can make you eat the pudding, by finishing off the last half of the dose of Morphine, and once I was compliant, I ate the pudding. But it stayed down. so I got discharged. Poor wife is getting diamonds for christmas, since she had to clean up after me. I owe her the world for it.

Glad you're feeling better.  Nothing worse than a stomach bug.   Getting my flu shot and booster next week.
Keep feeling better.

Tough going there WB. Sounds like a crazy situation. As one who's been a regular to the ER this last year I know how fun that can be. How long will you be on your pudding and Gatorade diet?

Anyway, hope you'll be your feisty self again soon.

I am not touching sugar free pudding ever again. I dont care if its the panacea that could completely cure me. To me it bad tasting. not fun. I gotta watch my fluid intake, got me some gatorade and am avoiding solid foods for the time being, since they gave me a prescription for an antibiotic that you can guess...has nausea as a side effect. monday i need to go to my regular doctor for tests, but she cant see me till the end of the month. So I am just going to grin and bear it as my back stopped hurting, my stomach and I have reached a cease fire agreement, but my leg needs to heal from this infection. Thank you very much Ms Slave, and everyone.

I lived in a gated community for a number of years. And most of the houses in the neighborhood were up the hill and around the corner. But my house was right next to the entrance gates. And our fucking HOA installed flood lights on the gates. The lights completely flooded my bedroom that overlooked the area, and it was like trying to sleep over a floodlight during an air raid.  Every few days I would go down and unscrew the bulbs. Add a few days later the Afghani HOA dude would screw them back in. So then I took to buying 75 W bulbs. And I would go down and take out the floodlights, and put in these little lamp size bulbs. This went on for years. It was a true war of attrition. I even took to taking a halogen Q-beam and focusing it on his bedroom in the middle of the night. Eventually the lights would go on, and I would slip away.

We have security lights over the door coming out of the garage. We have taken to calling them "the bunny lights". Yep, little long eared critters set them off as they hop by.

I seldom spot any when I look out. Much of the time they're probably on the way out of the yard. There was one time early in the morning. I was in the kitchen and I saw the lights flash on. I went to the window in time to see a possum strolling down the walk.

I did see the neighbor one day and mentioned told her we called them bunny lights. She said she'd notice. They shined right into her bedroom.

So now I have the sight lines figured out. ;D :emot_laughing:

BTW... She said lights didn't bother her. As to her property...she has lights on each side of her garage door bright enough to land a 737.  :D

I love my job, but somtimes days like yesterday happen.

One of the dogs that stay at our daycare was lost during a surgery to remove a tumor. She has been coming to daycare for the past 11 years. Pretty much since I started working there. Whenever the family go on trips or gone for a weekend, she stays with us, and I always get excited to see her. One of those beautiful hearts that I just want to Sir in the kennel with her. She was an absolute doll, and when she did sleep she had the cutest little snores. She was also a girl who could not control her locker. Giving kisses to anybody and everybody.

Testing showed that the cancer hadn't spread, and removing the tumor should extend her life greatly. It however is not cheap and most dont have any kind of pet insurance, and to be honest a lot of pet insurances are crap. It is also quite dangerous considering she is 13 years old, but the family elected to do it anyways.

About an hour in, she was gone. Making it worse was having to tell the family that we all knew so well. Then the thought of their other dog not knowing what happened. She was there, she left, and never comes back!! Uttely heartbreaking

My god I cant even type this out without becoming a blubbering balling mess.

Her daddy came back to see her one more time, but momma said she couldn't. It was the most heartwrenching sight seeing him with his head to hers crying as hard as he could. Felt like I was dying.

Yesterday I fucking hated my job

So sorry Shiela. I got all teary eyed halfway through your post. Having lost many pets over my long life I've grieved for them all. We lost our female cat just a year ago, and the boy still checks her favorite places around the house.

It's one thing to talk about "the circle of life". But when the pets we've known and loved leave us there's the paw prints still on our heart. They stay forever.

Bless you for the job you do. And a WOO just because you're wonderful.

Yesterday I fucking hated my job

I'm so sorry..being allergic to pets, I never formed an attachment.  But I have witnessed the heartbreak in so many friends and it tears at my heart, like it is for you now.  Hugs to you, S

Haven't seen watcher on in a few days, so I'd decided to check my email, and he sent me something saying he's in the hospital since sunday. Just called it "heart issues" and is getting stress tests.😔

He said I could let you all know.

What ruined my day .  ^this

What made my day.  Just got back from getting my uncle from the hospital and taking him home.  Then M and I cleaned his house and made some homemade chicken noodle.  Home now.  M and I are leaving for the movies in 5 minutes.

Oh, and wind chill is 32 degrees.  So that kinda ruined my day too.  But not as much as the Watcher update.  Get well soon my feathery friend.

We stay in close contact on email, mostly about our VA adventures. I wrote to him to see what I can find out. If they're doing stress tests, that doesn't sound too bad. Maybe just a little irregular heartbeat or something.

Getting tough here for the crew. Big Bird in the hospital, Staci unable to shake her Covid. Take care everyone. It's getting crazy out there and there's that thing called aging.

I missed the news that Staci has Covid. Get well soon, girl.

Speaking of Covid, I just got my booster, flu, and whooping cough shots today.
