Well, I guess I’m joining the club here. Lois sent me an email, she didn’t know that my wife and I had separated last November. We’ve been living about 125 miles apart, and only see each other once or twice a month.
Yesterday she sent me a photo of her BP cuff reading. 170/120. Almost had a heart attack. I insisted she get to the emergency room as quickly as possible. Instead she went to a doc in the box, and they sent her to the emergency room as quickly as possible.
Her labs are all completely screwed up. Dehydrated, creatinine levels off the charts. She’s been taking a lot of drugs, legal and not, for back pain. It looks like she is having renal failure. They wanted to transport her to the big hospital in San Antonio. She refused. Instead she limped home and went to work last night.
We’ve been together for seven years, married for five. And while they weren’t always the best of times, they were never the worst of times. She suffered a nervous break down in 2017, and has never really been the same. But it seems like she is giving up on life, and I really don’t know how to handle it. Because I could completely rearrange my life over this, and it wouldn’t change anything.
