The warm temps melted probably more than half the snow around my apartment.  Then the temps drop below freezing at night.

Tomorrow is garbage pickup so on my way to the dumpster, I slipped and fell.  Feels like my friggin tailbone is broken.  Going to be standing and laying on my belly for a while

That is probably one of the most painful injuries imaginable. I haven’t had that happen in years, but I vividly remember it. Oh my. Hope you feel better soon.

As with lots of old people, we're up early. (Aches and pains) We were moving around about 4:30 when flashing red lights went past our front window.

It was a firetruck, usual first responder to medical emergency. I went out and saw it was stopped on front of the house of the block's longest resident. Soon the firemen were joined by EMTs.

The lady has lived here since 1948. Wife moved here a few years later. No idea what happened, but we have a group message service for the block. May here something later. Hoping for good news.

Wisconsin opened up a short season to hunt wolves. In three days they killed so many wolves authorities had to stop the hunting. Conservationists have said the wolf population is not that prevalent and having a hunting season on them will put them back on the critical list. What value is it to hunt and kill wolves? You cannot eat their meat?

They slaughter these wonderful and beautiful beasts so that they dont become so dominant in the area that they begin killing livestock.  Also they compete with humans in the hunting of other animals like deer.

They kill a hundred over what they had allotted for. Nearly 300 wolves dead  :'(

Wisconsin also allowed hunters to use dogs in the wolf hunt. If a wolf kills a dog, the state pays the hunter for the loss. Some wonder if hunters are hoping to lose a dog to collect.

Farmers do lose a lot of calves to wolves, but there's provisions for hunting a wolf that starts hanging around a dairy farm.

I'm sure there's a number of wolves shot by the yahoos up there with the carcass tossed in the river.

# 1 is Dan.    # 2 is online betting sites.    Not that he's betting or anything...

Dan is constantly talking about the UCF fight this weekend.  UGH.  He's so looking forward to it for some reason.  Every time a commercial comes on he starts rambling again and talking about having a couple friends over.  And there are a lot of commercials because online betting is now legal in Michigan and one of the sites are running tons of advertisements on all the stations and it's been going on for 4 days.  With 4 more to go.

Ronda Rousey and Connor McGregor.  Had no idea who either of these two were, until all of a sudden, UFC undefeated this and that and best fighter blah blah blah.  Ok, so I will admit I became a Ronda Rousey fan, because she IS a badass.  To hell with all her haters, she could beat them all up.

I also say BOO to the UFC.

And NO, as someone suggested in a PM, I did not post it because Shiela was getting too much attention.

This is just awful.  I'm so sorry MJ. Somebody trying to ruin something you did because you feel great about yourself is terrible. It isn't all that easy to put ourselves out there.  Cant tell you how long I stared at that "post" button before just doing it.  I'm regretting posting mine.  Sorry it happened to you Jules  :'(

I know, thank Staci.

And as Shiela says, it isn't easy doing something like that. I also thought long and hard before hitting the 'post' button.

5 years ago the PM would have really rattled me. I would have immediately taken the photo down and laid low for a bit. I find myself in a more secure and confident state now. I can deal with it.
I could out the person and they'd be ridiculed and probably leave, but I'm not going that route, I'll forgive and write it off as a lapse in judgement. I won't say who it was to anybody including the other mods because we're all protective of each other as many members are of each other. It's over. I've said my peace. They know that I know it was them. That's good enough for me.

I really shouldn't have said anything, but I did.  No more speaking of it, enough has been said on that matter, back to our regularly scheduled program please, and...

Our Jules taking the "high road" is why this board is so great. The job she and the other mods do keeps things on an even keel.    With some of the topics here, it's easy to see how quick things could get out of control.

With a tough, but fair sheriff we keep rolling along.

I drove 150 miles to my vaccination site, only to learn that shipments were delayed by the Snowpocalypse.  I have to go back next week.  Another 150 mile drive.  Each way.  🤬🤬🤬

I’ll post a dick pic.  No reason to make the girls do all the heavy lifting.

No reason to regret it because someone else decided to be a dick. That was their decision/responsibility, not yours or Jules'

Two things

1. I constantly tell myself that I need to learn a limit, but I need to stop drinking just because I'm bored.

2. I just got a text saying my half-brother tested positive for covid.  He said he wasnt feeling good, but was sure it wasnt covid, well now we know for sure.  His wife and kids are going to go get tested today.

Well, I have been known to drive people to drink..... ;D ;D

Does your half-brother testing positive for COVID mean that you will need to be tested now?

No I havent seen him since the superbowl, and he hasn't been by dad's for a couple weeks either.  That's the only way I could see me getting it. I'm not going to get tested until I start to feel sick or my dad does.

Dan hurt himself on our run earlier. Twisted his ankle on uneven concrete. Hurt it bad enough that I completed the route back home, got the car, picked him up and drove him home.  He's icing now.

That's not what ruined my day.  It ruined Dan's day.

What ruined my day is he's the biggest baby. He's the WORST patient. I'm not a good waitress/nurse/servant.  2 hours in and I'm gonna KILL HIM.
