Thanks Jules. We're just a couple of old people who stay home a lot anyway. We did have a brief talk that boiled down to: "We've lived a good long life...if we die, we die."

Seriously, I think I'm more at risk getting in the car and driving on substandard road among drivers who may be looking at cel phones or drunk.  :emot_kiss:

Exactly. Crazy fucking people are more likely to kill you than the shit paper plague.

Yep, I am. Lived through so many changes in over 70 years. Proud to say I'm living through another crisis...so far, so good. :D

Remember when polio struck friends and neighbors?  Even though in grammar school, it was scary. Mumps, measles, chickenpox?   All viruses we caught and lived through that science was able to effectively eliminate for those who become inoculated.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.

Yeah... I mentioned polio a few days ago. I can still those photos of kids of my age at the time... trapped in huge iron lungs...the only way they could breath.

Any comments yet from the "anti-vaxers"? Like to hear what they think now.

Well trained and been made compliant....by my cat Neville

Returning to the truck yesterday from Walmart with a 4 pack of paper towels, some guy seeing us asked, ‘What, no armed guard carrying that?’
I replied, ‘I’m gonna sell it on Amazon and make a fortune!’

We all had a laugh.  And, now from Walmart and Safeway, I’m the proud owner of a total of 8 rolls of paper towels.

Walmart had in the back 2 and 4 packs of paper towels, and 6 packs of TP allowing only one per customer.  My Peruvian wanted to get two of the TPs since we were 2 people.  I told her no, we had enough TP at home, and let someone desperate buy those.  I just hope whoever got them, really needed them.  We didn’t, and I wanted to be civil about a real need.

Back at the grocery store today we see a woman about 80 bent over like a question mark with a cane slowly walking towards the door.  We park and go in, just to find her struggling with the motorized grocery carts.  One wasn’t plugged in she said, and the other was wedged in so bad she couldn’t get it free.  I got it out for her and got her rolling on her way.

But the whole time I wanted to ask:

Why are you here?
Where is your family?
Don’t you have neighbors checking on you?
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE!

Scary that the local newspaper had to print this:

Running out of toilet paper is not a reason to call 9-1-1

My mechanic scammed me for a little over $600 on repairs of my OSB Chevrolet. Left me on the side of the road yesterday morning on my way to work. Had to tow the truck to another shop. New mechanic has made a list of what is new and old that he can tell on my engine and has started fixing problems I have been chasing for 3 months now.

Almost happened to me once.  Had a bad power steering leak and took it in.  Told me I needed a whole new pump and would cost about $600, I couldn't afford it and it still drove so I brought it home. Uncle told me to take it the guy he goes to and found out it was a bad rubber piece.  $125 and it was fixed.  Treat them like doctors and get a second opinion.

I used to do all my own automotive repairs myself but I am spread thin these days with work, children, grand children and moving the former Mrs to her new home. I feel so ashamed to have been scammed like this with all my years as a mechanic. Humans make me sick these days.

My local mechanic quoted $1300 to replace the leaking heater bypass valve on my Saab.  Actually, to replace the whole unit.  I bought the part online for $34, and a shade tree charged me less than $150 to put it on, tax included.  #sheepgetslaughtered

That is the best way to do it Toe unless you're having computer issues. I still have an older code reader but I never bought the software to reprogram them. That is $$$ still, I set myself up for failure on this. Wanna buy a used Chevy? (J/K)

Don't forget to grease the muffle bearing, open the canooter valve and have the air in your tires rotated

Too much COVID-19 news.   I haven't been so glued to the TV since the days after 911, and before that was the OJ trial.

This is only the beginning.  We still have months of this.  Psychologically going to drain me.   I need to schedule some days away from it.

Thinking about going to my daddy's cabin up north.  Sheltering away 200 miles away with nobody around.  No internet, no tv, no cell tower reception.   Just quiet times.  The kids hate being not connected.

Yeah, reminds me of being glued to the TV watching Katrina bearing down on New Orleans.  It’s the same phenomenon of not wanting to miss a wreck watching NASCAR.  Doesn’t mean you’re hoping for one, just don’t want to miss it with morbid fascination.

My Peruvian and I both have weird headaches, but so far no persistent cough or fever.  She was off this morning to take care of little ones as the day cares are still open.

The cabin sounds good Jules.  We have not cancelled a 4 day camping trip 2nd weekend in April, but I’m considering going before then, maybe next weekend.  The April trip is with her family, not sure it’s a good idea, would be 14 of us, maybe more.

Well I'm out of a job for now.  Everybody is canceling appointments and there are no pets in boarding.  To save money I'm getting laid off.  I might go try and work with my guy friend, he says he's been working 12 hours days every day since last week Wednesday.  He works at a grocery store supply warehouse and they can't keep up with the demand.

Um wow,  so all of a sudden you're in the mood, usually you're not or your tongue is tired.

Ok, come on over,  but because of social distancing, you'll have to do it from 6 feet away soooo.... looks like it's not gonna happen.  Sorry. :emot_laughing:
