Woke up to a broken coffee pot  :emot_banghead:  today is going to friggin suck
I can't even dream of waking up to no coffee.

After brewing a pot, we "decant" the precious nectar of the wake up God to an airport, where it stays hot for several hours. Well, usually gone in a couple hours in the morning.

In the afternoon I make sure there's an ample morning starter amount in the pot. That way, coffee is available as soon as I hitthe kitchen. No waiting for a fresh pot to brew. If it's not hot enough, well, that's why God made microwave ovens.

I have one of those auto programming ones that start an hour before my alarm goes off.  Go up and nothing broken, so I know my dad ALWAYS has coffee so that's where I went.  And I was right, day is not going well

Microwaved coffee is enough to ruin anyone’s day.

When it's an addiction, how you heat it isn't the problem... getting it in the body is what counts.  >:(

No, that’s laziness.  I drink coffee 365 days a year... 366 days in Leap Years, and I never microwave coffee.

Desperate times can call for desperate measures love.  I've microwaved a few cups in my life

Heard from my sister last night. She's scheduled for triple bypass surgery first week of February.

Her two sons will be with her. One has worked in a nursing home for years, so she has someone with experience in patient care.

I feel helpless being 200 miles away. Doubt wife is up to overnight travel anymore. Also I don't think she'd be good staying home alone.

Just have to trust sister will be in good hands and wait for news.

*hugs* to you.

Bypass surgery isn’t the big deal it was 20 or 30 years ago.  Survival rates are very high.  I had mine in 2017 and feel great.  Hell, Bernie Sanders had one and was back on the campaign trail in a matter of days.

Sound like she’s lucky to have her son available.  My wife had cared for her invalid mother for many years, and was a big help to me.

They told me six months to full recovery, and that was pretty accurate.

Thanks Toe. I know it's considered "routine" now.  I was in the VA hospital a few years ago and had two roomies that both had bypass surgery. They were doing good a couple days after surgery.

Sister is scared about it tho. She's been living alone for many years so not used to being taken care of.

Her dog is going to fancy pet hotel. He'll ha e a sixty square foot "room" and play times. Don't even want to think about the cost of that.

I know. Wife and I have both been through several.

I just feel so helpless not being able to be there. Like I'd be of any help..."Move over Doctor, I think I can do better."

Maybe I can get down for a visit after she's had some recovery time.

Hope there comes a chance that you will be able to visit your sister. She definitely will cherish a visit by her brother.  Good luck to your sister.

Hugs to you MS. It is so difficult watching a loved one go through something like that.   We are all thinking of her and her loved ones.    HUG

Thanks Jules. She's not as scared now. Met with friend and friend's hubby. He'd had bypass surgery by same doctor and did  fine. Only used a few of the pain pills they gave him.
