Cables on the garage door opener snapped so I can't park in the garage. Can't get anyone here to fix it until next month.

At least I won't need an ice-scraper, at least for the next two weeks, if the forecast is right. I've heard that actually happens once in a while... the forecast being right I mean.  :D

WTH...??
Pull the release and lift the damn door yourself.....
I don't even have power doors in the barn, you actually have to lift them.
I feel so deprived right now.....OMG...... ;D

Love,
Liz

Amazing how simple that solution is.  Not like a broken spring.

Turns out it is a broken spring too. I saw both cables sticking out and hadn't looked at the spring, but it's now in two pieces.

Pulling the release doesn't let the door go up, but I appreciate the suggestion Liz.

I had to park outside for the first 14 year of having my drivers license.  Then I got my garage and didn't have to warm up or brush the snow off my car anymore, except at work.
To have an indoor spot taken away would definitely ruin my day, especially with the weather as it is today.

What ruined my day...  Today?  Nothing.  Might have a little cabin fever later, but that's okay, football on today and my daddy and his friend coming over.  Lot's of baking and the house will soon smell like chocolate chip cookies.   Daddy is taking my niece home to spend the night and Monday with.  MLK day off for our school system, but not for me. :(

.
You might not know this, but I have a thing for Tom Brady (and Bill Clinton)

Regarding garages, I went without a garage for all but 10 years of my life. So what do I do when I finally get said garage to keep cars warm and cozy — I buy a fucking pickup truck that doesn’t fit  ;D

Right now, the wife’s car and my motorcycle are in the garage while my truck sits outside in the cold. The garage is kind of short so even if the motorcycle wasn’t there, the truck is still 2 feet too long.

That is all.

We have two cars, one and three-quarter motorbikes and a garage so full of junk that no vehicles live in them.

The temperature has just dropped to frost levels this week, as I have to set off for work around 0530...

Just once, I’d like to wake up to the smell of family making breakfast for me.  Instead, they all wait hungry for me to arise, and present a list of items from my repertoire they want me to make for them.  It’s nice to be needed, but sheesh.  You’re all grown adults.  You have two hands.  Supposedly you are capable of reading a cookbooks, or at least have gained something by osmosis these past 20 years.  My name isn’t Mel.

Pretty much nails it.  “Can I have some scrambled eggs, with tomatoes and onions, and some sausage and toast?  And would you squeeze some juice?  Oh, and how about some pancakes?  With blueberries?”

Maybe, it’s the concept of turning on a stove and/or toaster that they don’t understand. But I’m sure the argument they come up with, Toe, is that you do it so much better than they can.

That is all.

Sometimes I wish I could turn my empathy off.

A friend is in a pretty shitty situation, but I'm too far away to step in and physically help.

I'm not a violent man, but there's a human turd on the south coast that needs a good kicking, and all I'm able to do is listen to her woes.

So sorry to hear that IB. I've been in that situation and it's so damn frustrating.  :(
