Reading through an old thread last night.  I got totally emotional and ended up going through a ton of his old posts.   That was all good.  I shared a lot of it with Mark.  A lot of laughs and happy tears as I could imagine him saying those things in his own way as I would read them.

The ruined my day part.  I got into bed at 11.  I couldn't sleep and the last time I looked at the clock it was about 4 am.  My mind kept recalling some of the things I had read and that caused me to think of other memories.  The alarm went off at 5am.  This is going to be a long day.

We took Mark's daughter back to university today.   She had too much to take back in her car, so we took Mark's SUV packed to the gills.   Mark rode with her, while my niece and I drove in the other car.   After unpacking we went out to dinner.   We left for home from the restaurant and just got back an hour ago.   

I'll admit to shedding a tear when we got in the car to come home.  I'm going to miss her so much.   We had a great summer.   It was my best summer ever, and it was partly due to her living with us the past 3 months.

Our Scout Hut was burgled - £10,000 of tents and archery equipment.  The kids spent years raising money to pay for all that, and the tents were so new we hadn't actually used them yet!!

CJ has been getting constant calls on her smartphone about her student loan refund.

This is an overseas Indian call center scam. Verizon does absolutely fucking nothing about it. The number changes with every call.

They called when I was changing a diaper. They called when I was at the park with the fam. They just now called while I'm trying to relax before the insanity that is dinner time.

Normally I would have fun wasting their time. But this is out of control. If it's not them, it's a car insurance scam. I also got a call about my computer's license or some shit.

Or you don’t even own a computer. I used to have upwards of 8 computers in my home (various experimental servers). Now we are down to two - my wife’s MacBook and my iMac which seldom gets used as anything but a file server. My preferred device is my iPad.

I denied owning a phone.

Went to the store to pick up a couple cases of bottled water and a few other things. The poor girl at the register was overwhelmed and doing her best to move the line along when this impatient bitch yelled at her to hurry up, she had THINGS TO DO. The girl called for help, no one came. She kept working fast as she could when this rude fucking bitch dropped everything she had on the floor and stomped out calling her cuss words. Now, obviously I cuss a lot, but I never do in front of my kids. I had my 2 year old with me and I had to cover her ears. I took it upon myself to call her a fuckin' rude bitch. So I couldn't push my cart because of the stuff she dropped, so I picked it up and set it aside for the girl. I offered to help her bag stuff to help get the line moved because I actually know the manager and she wouldn't mind if I helped, but she politely declined and told me to have a great day with that beautiful baby girl.

Everyone in the line told her not to let that bitch get her down, so that made a shit start to the day a little better seeing strangers stand up for her.


Then when I got to the car I got another scam call about my student loan from another different number.  :emot_banghead:

Ugh, I hate seeing people be mean like that to people at the grocery store.  I wish I could tell them off.

The Kroger I go to has kids that have learning disabilities bag the grocery's.  There is this one boy who tries his hardest but he just cant get it.   The lady in front of me started yelling at him for putting the bread on top of some canned stuff (at least it wasn't the other way around).  I've had him do much worse with some of my stuff but I don't really care.  She was just so mean.

So does mine. I've never had that happen and they always tell me to have a nice day. Sometimes they're slower, but at least they're working a job and doing what they can unlike a lot of people who just want handouts.

They didn't pick up garbage today. They got the recycling, not the garbage. It's 104 degrees and the entire neighborhoods garbage carts are in blazing sunshine with wind sweeping the smells all over the place. It literally smells like hot garbage.
