I picked up a head cold from someone at work Friday morning.  Friday afternoon my throat was a little scratchy, no other symptoms until Saturday when the thick mucous and "my face feels funny" nonsense started.  I got on it right away with Zinc lozenges and Benadryl, so here this evening (Sunday) it's mostly under control.  I'll have to back off on the Benadryl tomorrow so I can drive, but at least I don't have the free-flowing snot thing going on.  :D

Nothing earth-shattering like the two recent hurricanes, but hey, it's MY nose that's trying to turn into a Greco-Roman fountain!

560 mile round trip to get a scumbag wife beater off the hook.  His wife swears he's just misunderstood.  No word yet on what the 16 year old he allegedly raped says.  Days like this, I need a shower.  I still can't believe the prosecutor rolled.

If I were a criminal defence attorney, I'd be the poorest one out there. First question I would ask the potential client is -- Did you do it?  If they answer yes, I'd walk. Especially in cases such as yours.

I know that everybody deserves a good defence. However, that does not mean it would have to be me.

I owed this man's family a huge favor, and they got it.

It's one of the hardest parts of being a lawyer.  Duty of zealous advocacy.  Duty of client loyalty.  I pick my cases usually, but this case picked me.  Don't care to explain, but I did not feel free to turn down this one.
