Food is a necessary addition.  That is what makes dieting and  loosing weight so hard.  If it was easy, it would not be such a problem.

I am overweight and would like nothing better than to loose weight, but ever diet I've started has been marked by weight gain.

See my reply here:  http://www.kristensboard.com/forums/index.php?topic=52337.msg476364#msg476364

I didn't wanna hijack the thread too much.

The gym I go to closed it's doors effective immediately. The is the first Monday in years I don't have a bag packed.

(i'm saying gym as it is but it's not the type of gym one thinks about. It was more than just a gym to work out) sigh.

Started physical therapy for my broken ankle yesterday.  I can still barely put weight on it and they really put me through some paces!  It really hurt a few hours later and made it hard to sleep.

We need to start a "Oh My Aching Lumbago*" thread for those of us who are falling apart.   :emot_laughing:

I'm having an adverse drug reaction to Lasix, a diuretic.  Dizzy, nauseous, etc.  I can barely stand for a few minutes.  I've missed two days of work, and have no sick leave or vacation time.  So I'm taking a huge hit in the pocket book also.  Now if I could only find some tincture of laudanum...

Good luck with your recovery.   PT is tough, it's all worth it in the end though.

I was reading an article about some drug interactions when mixed with Viagra.   Be careful what you mix it with handsome.    ;D

Lasix is a drug that can have severe side effects for some, as you note. My Grandfather acted like he had dementia, was goofy, when taking much of a dose at all, yet had issues with his limbs retaining liquid.

Alternate drugs required they be administered via drip, by medical personnel and in his case, being in a nursing home, that worked out for him, but only when really pressed by his Son, who threatened legal action... seems the shift change would bring on a new Doc, who would diagnose Lasix, then the next shift, GrandDad would be acting goofy, sent to the ER for a few days, and it kept happening.

This was a while ago and I believe there are now 'self injected' alternates to Lasix that can be prescribed ,and you can be taught to self administer a few times daily... same effect, but no dizzy/goofy reaction.

Ask the doc.

"  ... A. Furosemide can deplete the body of both potassium and magnesium. Because it is impossible to predict how any given individual will react, the only way to know whether you need potassium and/or magnesium supplements would be to have your physician order a blood test for both minerals. We would encourage you to have this done periodically since levels can change over time. If you are indeed low in potassium your physician will be able to determine the most appropriate dose..."

Need specific blood tests to find what is biting you... Potassium, Magnesium, etc are not good to be depleted, and individual reactions to Lasix are different.

Nothing wrong with taking supplements just in case, since both potassium & magnesium are easily excreted by the body when in excess.

I'm taking potassium and magnesium supplements, along with several liters of fluids a day, while I try to get my wits back.  This is the third time this has happened to me.  Time to try a different med...

First, there is plenty of gasoline available.  If this is the end of the world, an extra tank won't make a GD bit of difference in a few days.  Second, if there is a price spike, you may have to pay an extra $4.00 or $5.00 for a tank of gas.  But you've spent $20.00 worth of your time sitting in line... Where is the savings?  Finally, you look really silly following the herd in long lines for petro.  Go get your gas at 3:00 a.m.  I promise there won't be anyone there...

Having been worked up with a resulting stiffness between my loins after reading another chapter of 'Caught' on my kindle, I couldn't do anything about releasing the tension as I was in an uptown coffee bar... aw shucks...

I've been guzzling ice cold water today. I've been thirsty all fucking day for some reason.

The past few days it's been nice and cool and actually found it hard to drink half a bottle of water, but it got warmer today and all of a sudden I can't stop drinking water. I'm still drinking it. I've been sucking on ice cubes too.

Needless to say I've been peeing constantly. The good news is the pee color indicated I'm well hydrated. Or over hydrated.

Fucking erratic environment.

Check glucose levels.  Excessive urination is a symptom of elevated blood sugars.

First day of school.    All the moms in the office coming in and showing off the pictures of their children.      My mom and dad took blurry pictures of my niece.
