We had to take Neville on his final trip to the Vet yesterday. Thought we had a little more time but it wasn't to be. I can't even write more than this.

Later when I can get control of my emotions.

We've had five cats in our over 30 years together. They're all still part of us. I know I'll be seeing Nev going around the corner ahead of me for several weeks. His spirit will stay with me until he knows I'm ok. That's how it's been with all the others.

Have had friends and family reaching out already. Of course I know I can count on my KB family. At our age and with health problems we won't be getting another pet. Think that's making it harder.

I am so sorry Bob, I believe that we will reunite with our loved ones later and until then they look out for us, it is one of the hardest things to let your pet, your loved one, go when it is time, and you know you do it to let them not suffer anymore, it is just us still left alive who suffer for the loss, please take care.

Such true words Staci and Vela. He's routines and mine meshed as we went through our day. I could tell what time it was by where he was napping  :D

Last chore of the day was feeding cat food, fresh water and treats. Walked into kitchen last night and all there was to do was make coffee for morning. I lost it. Went to wife for comfort.

Thanks Obi. Today we started removing some of his things. His bed, litter box, food and water bowls. We're regaining floor space. Didn't realize how much space a small cat could take up. He was an expert at claiming space. :D

It some ways it seems like we're removing memories of him. Other times it's like removing hurtful reminders of our loss. We've lost four other cats over the 30+ years we've been together. Somehow this feels more painful.
But life goes on and I realize grieving is a process.
