What RUINED your day today?

My first real sickness while dating my friend.     She's very unsympathetic.     I NEED BABIED, (at least a little bit).    Tuck me in.   Get me another blanket when I'm sitting in the chair and I say I'm cold.   Ask if there's anything she can do for me.

She did make a good soup last night.   I'll keep her around for a little while longer.

I fucked up big time with my 4 year old today.

I was watching a video on youtube, and she hopped up on my lap. The woman in the video, I kid you not, looks like my 4 year old but only much older of course. Same hair. Same mouth and smile. Same god damn fucking adorable cleft chin. 

She said "she looks just like me, mommy!"

And then I said the worst fucking thing I could ever say to her. "Maybe she's your real mommy." 

Yes, she is adopted. And I did not say it in a mean way. The woman is beautiful, and so is she. The retarded blonde was strong with me today.

She hopped off my lap and has not spoken to me since. At dinner she wouldn't even look at me and didn't want to eat her favorite thing: My wife's spaghetti.

Major fuck up. Major, major fuck up. So fucking stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What ruined my day........     I've been listening to XM radio the last couple days.    Didn't watch the news yesterday.    Woke up to 3 inches of snow.   Everybody is saying, "They've been reporting about it since noon yesterday."   
My commute was twice as long as usual.      Have I even mentioned we have moronic drivers here in Detroit.

Arrived safely.  All that matters.   Everybody is trickling in late.

A little good news, my cold seems almost gone.   I feel a whole lot better.

CG can't really add much that hasn't already been said. Save that I to will add my wishes, and hopes that the situation resolves, and gets better.
As for what ruined my day. My best friend's Mother just passed this morning. I am trying to be there for them, but I am finding myself dealing with returning emotions from my own mother's passing. For me this happened a little over a year ago, but now I am dealing with emotions again as if had just happened. Part of me feels like a selfish ass for this, and that makes me feel even worse.
So yeah I am having a banner day for feeling like crap.

It took a lot of REAL mommy daughter talk and hugs but she forgave me. She was mad at the person who didn't want her but should have been the one person in the world who did.

I've raised her since diapers. Rubbed her tummy when it hurt, all night if I had to so she could sleep. I read stories to her every night. Whoever made her meant her for me. She's my daughter whether biologically or not and I'll never ever give her up. She calls me mommy because I am.
