Spent the last three hours digging 4 small glass shards out of my foot.  Tiny little things, but they  hurt oh so bad.

Oh dear, my sympathies.  How did that happen?

Princess, would you like to see it light up and hum when I wave it about

I dropped a glass a week ago behind the bar in the basement.  Thought I got it all.

I was making a drink yesterday afternoon and was barefoot.   First time I had been down there since.

That's horrible. Especially when they are those thin small shards you can't see or feel unless you step on them. Hope you got all the glass now though.

Hope you got all that glass, Jules. Those little splinters seem to hurt more than the bigger bits.

As for time change, Baja California Sur switched last week (last weekend in October) and will not be springing forward ever again. Mexico, as a country, is now on permanent standard time with the exception of some border cities and the state of Quintana Roo. The border cities (Tijuana, Mexicali, etc) will continue to mark the time changes of the bordering US state. Quintana Roo has been and will continue to observe Eastern Standard Time in deference to the tourists in Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, etc.

The fact that I've changed the clock in my vehicle for the last time makes me happy (even though it is incredibly easy to do).

That is all.

Powerball Estimated Jackpot for 11/07/22 (today) Annuitized: $1.90 Billion, Cash Value: $929.1 Million. Sweet dreams today, and spending that money in my head.

The drawing is delayed.

From CNN

"The California Lottery announced late Monday night that it’s delaying the Powerball drawing because officials need more time to complete security protocols.

The delay is caused by one participating lottery that needs more time to process its sales, the Multi-State Lottery Commission told CNN in a statement. The drawing is still planned to occur after that procedure is completed.

Earlier, the California Lottery said, “Powerball has strict security requirements that must be met by all 48 lotteries before a drawing can occur,” adding that a participating lottery needs extra time to meet those requirements before the drawing can be conducted."

The drawing is delayed.

So I don’t understand. They haven’t done the drawing yet? Or they done the drawing but they’re not announcing the results?

They’ve got a $157 million Mega Millions drawing scheduled for tonight.

If no one wins PB this time, it’ll be 2 1/2 billion on Wednesday, with a cash option worth more than $1 billion.

Last I heard was drawing for PB is tonight.   That was speculation from a news source that tried looking up this issue.

I have 3 Megan's too

Jackpocket says I won $24 on the PowerBall. Which is also what I spent.

Another power outage. Was off for about a half hour. We were watching TV when POP... everything went dark. Last one a few weeks ago a neighbor saw a worker from the power company in the alley. Squirrel!!!  Little tree rat had a worse day than we did

Fresh coffee now on..had to make do with lukewarm coffee in the airport to get by for my wake up

I feel for you with regards to the luke warm coffee.

We've had coffee interruptus twice this week. Monday we had to go to the immigration office for 10 AM. Tuesday was our regular trip to the organic market to get our citrus for juice.

Today, we had our coffee consumed before 10.

That is all.

We never fixed the Texas power grid, so power outages this winter are a definite possibility. My concern is for my ICSO and her portable hemodialysis system.

At any given moment during a six hour home dialysis cycle, the machine has about half a cup of the patient’s blood in it. If there’s a power failure, it is necessary to use a hand crank to pump the blood back into the patient. And some complicated disconnecting of things that need to be disconnected etc. I would be very worried about her having the power to go down and have to do all that herself, without someone’s assistance. She is typically home alone in the afternoons.

They make a portable electric unit that maintains a sufficient charge, to keep the machine running in the event of a power failure. I’m looking into buying one. The cheap ones are a few hundred dollars. The ones that provide several hours of charge are several thousand dollars.

Just heard from the wife of my friend that's in the hospital with a broken hip. He's been in since October 1st. When I saw him yesterday he'd thought he'd been in the hospital only 3 weeks.

They did some x-rays this afternoon and now they want to do more surgery! Looks like a long road home for my best bud.

My friend with the broken hip problem is back in surgery this morning. It was October 1st when he broke the hip. Had a 4 1/2 hour surgery and hasn't done well in rehab.

Yesterday his wife got a call from his doctor. Somehow the ball of the hip joint had come out of the socket. X-rays showed some bone chips too.

When I talked with wife this morning she'd gotten to the hospital too late. They'd already taken him in to surgery. She was pretty weepy on the phone. It is a worry, along with being as old as I am, he has COPD in a bad way

COPD complications with general anesthesia are well known and documented. Prayers for your friend.

He's out of surgery and was in recovery as of a couple hours ago. Doctor tried to put the ball back into the socket without surgery. No go, so in they went. Added some wires and other hardware. He'll be in some sort of brace that will keep leg from moving. Back to square one, maybe even further behind.

I wish they'd ease up on visitor restrictions. Still only one person per day for one hour.

You might want to go for broke and get an auxiliary generator that kicks in automatically if the mains get interrupted. I don't know the cost but the benefits, in this case, are definitely worth it.

That is all.

I thought about it, but I live 120 miles away in Austin. And I don’t trust any of the idiots in that house to safely fuel and operate an auxiliary generator. If there is some way to set the house on fire, or fill it with carbon monoxide, they will figure it out. I can’t tell you how many times they have left the stove top or oven on, and filled the house with smoke. It’s just a disaster looking for a place to happen.
