More family.drama on top of my intense migraine... or maybe it caused my intense migraine, either way day ruined.

So sorry to hear that. Have you come across any medication that helps to alleviate the migraines?

It's a genetic trait that runs in and out of my family. You have my sympathy.

My sympathies too, Shiela.  Migraine attacks are horrible.

The only effective medication I found was Zolmitriptan, but it had to be taken as soon as the symptoms were felt.  If the attack established itself then it was too late for medication and anything ingested (even water) made me throw up.   In later life I found that the regular medication I was prescribed for high blood pressure greatly reduced the frequency of attacks.

The Neurologists at the VA here put me on something called Valproic Acid. I take a couple capsules at night. It reduced the number of Migraines soon and after a few years I haven't had one  in ages. There is a downside, if you stop taking them. I was in the hospital with an intestinal blockage, so nothing to eat or drink, including my meds. I soon started having  headaches and finally figured out that I need the Valproic Acid. They found a liquid form and added that to my  IV and the headaches went away.
Better to prevent them that cure them. Of course everyone's body is different, just passing on my experience.

KB note: When I had a migraine, it made me horny and I usually would masturbate. The headache would ease when I'd cum, but was back again soon.

I'd never heard of valproic acid and looked up alternative names. The one that clicked was Depakene. Two members of my family use it for epilepsy and bipolar disorder.

800 mg ibuprofen. The US Military cure all.

I get two different types of migraines. This one was the intense, throbbing, pounding, every move makes me wish I was dead kind, and then I get a much different kind. It starts with a slight headache and my left eye begins to itch all around the socket. Then I begin to see double as the muscles attached to my eye relax, and it starts to sag. So if I were to look forward, my left eye would be looking down slightly. It isnt too bad. But anybody looking at me, would be able to seenmy eyes aren't straight. After that thenheadache gets worse mostly I think because of the double vision and trying to focus, so I end up just closing my left eye. The headache usually doesn't get too powerful, but bad enough, and it can take several hours for my eye to return.

And I thought that it only happened to me.  :o

I think it is because the (male?) brain can only process one intense sensation at a time. Stubbing your toe may have the same effect, but not as pleasurable.

Since it has been mentioned numerous times that men have two brains, what brain were you referring to?  I know one brain has pretty much a one track mind.

In the Canadian military, the cure all was Tylenol, or as friends of mine call it PPCLI candy. PPCLI - Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry - the first Canadian army units deployed when shit hits the fan.

I recall going to sick parade with any one of a. number of ills and always seemed to come away with 2 or 3 bottles of Tylenol and a big bag of salt. Why salt? Apparently everybody seemed to have a sore throat so they would hand out a pound of salt with instructions to dissolve a tablespoon in warm water and gargle.

That is all.

What ruined my day is learning that Travis County, including the courts, are going to be closed tomorrow. It’s 48° and raining right now. The forecast says temperatures are going to dip into the 20s by tomorrow afternoon. They are raiding the Food King, and clearing the shelves. Just crazy. But at least I get to stay home in my flannels and rub a few out.

Tylenol = paracetamol = acetaminophen. For some reason I can never pronounce acetaminophen correctly. The middle syllables get mixed up and it comes out as "acetamoniphen" or something similar.

I got my booster shot yesterday, and had no problems with it. Today, not so much. I'm lightheaded with some slight dizzy spells, I keep getting this odd smell, and taste, but can't figure out what the hell it is, and my fingertips feel like pins and needles.

Has anybody had troubles with the booster? I got a sick from my vaccines, but it was no big deal and was over in a few days. This is different and a bit worrying. Shannon and Amanda say I should go to the ER because of the dizziness,  and the nurse advice line said I should drink more fluids but not caffeine or alcohol.  No coffee?? I'd rather die🤣

And are able to drink all the coffee you want (within limits.)

Has anybody had troubles with the booster?

Nobody in our family.  Sore bicep is all I had.  Everybody else was fine.  Maybe a little tired the next day would be about it.

Hope you feel better, Miss S.

Everyone in my family got the booster, and I was the only one that had any side effects, whatsoever. And I just felt a little achy the next day. But no big deal.

Later yesterday evening, my eyes and sinuses started hurting, and I couldnt stop tearing up. I got congested pretty bad and really tired. Not sure what it was all about, nut this morning i woke up and felt great. Nothing unusual except I still get that scent from time to time.

I’m not an expert, but I have read that people with more serious symptoms following vaccination are actually having a stronger auto immune response, which results in increased antibodies and stronger resistance to Covid infection. So it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Glad you’re feeling better.

Protesters complaining about the the Covid-19 vaccination and booster.
Telling everyone it’s fake and we don’t need to be vaccinated.
With the number of people dying, they must be living under a rock.

I’ve had no problems with any of my shots including my booster, maybe it’s because all the whiskey I drink.
Please get vaccinated and get your kids vaccinated.

Late Thursday afternoon, an hour before shift ended, my internet went out. Since I need to be responsible I immediately notified my manager (my PC-no internet-ethernet cable. My smartphone was able to work off of the tower actually across the street). Since I have AT&T, I used the Smart Home Manager  app on my phone and tried to run diagnostics. I then had a chat with one of their techies and he diagnosed the problem as my external modem going out. He then ordered a new one and said that the new one would be delivered to me Saturday.
Saturday I called AT&T. Where's my modem? Oh, there has been a weather delay, let me put in a ticket. Late Saturday night I was given a tracking number. Checked the tracking number on Sunday morning. It will be to me on Tuesday. I updated my manager. An hour ago, the external modem suddenly started working again. Since I can afford a 4 day weekend I'll take one, but I feel foolish.

Ugh, frustrating Dudester.  All the delays with supply chain and stuff, then put weather delays on top of it.  Grrr.   Enjoy your 4 day then.

Not, as bad as many others,
But when every tab holds something significant, it can be hard to make Choices,
But even harder if not making them,
As my browser overloaded or something, and now all 132, yes, you read it right, 132, including both regular 😀and 🥸 tabs were wiped.
Guess a trip down the history section is needed, to build back whatever part I can…
