We’re going to hit 63° on Wednesday, with a high of 86°.  Can’t get here soon enough.

I agree Chirp...then we can start to complain about the cold.

Maybe a hangover, but definitely an upset stomach.  Child woke me up from Venice at 4 am, and spent the next four hours finding him new flights to get home.  By the time that was over, I just had a big ball of acid churning. So Zantac, Alka Seltzer, nap, and a little broth.  Family is being patient with me.

Leaving the beach and crossing the bridge to the mainland there was a small boat in the bay with two young men on it. One was flying a flag and motioning us to beep.  It was a Trump 2020 flag, and the RV behind me beeped.  10 minutes later stopping at a marina restaurant for an early dinner, about 20% of the docked boats were flying the same flag.

And, I have a sunburn.

Power went out at 6 pm yesterday.   13 hours in.   The kids are all sleeping at friends or elsewhere.    Dan and I in the cool basement.

Power is still out.  26 hours.  DTE (our electric company) is saying it could take until Thursday.

Dan and I have move into the 71 degree basement.   The main floor is about 85.   I don't sleep in 85. 

Our portable generator is powering the sump pump, a freezer, a fridge, and the exhaust fan for the hot water heater.  Personal hotspot from my phone to computer.   

We went out for breakfast this morning, then to Target, then to Lowe's, then shopping.  Came home and worked outside.  Grilled and sat by the pool, (which I'm concerned is not filtering, still clear as of now though).  Then we showered in the dark.  Now, relaxing as the room gets darker.

Kids are all staying at friends houses where they have power.   Dan and I will be off to work tomorrow.

people here practically riot if the power goes out for an hour.

So weird.   People in my subdivision are all hanging out in front of their garages.   I'm like, WTF?   Like zombies not knowing what to do.   I left the house and did sh*t today.  Came back after and worked in the yard, chilled and grilled and chatted with Dan.   Everybody else is in some weird zombie mode.  All day they did this, every time I drove in and out of our development.

The only real snag we had was the hot water heater.   We drained it yesterday and had no hot water.  But it's on gas, so wtf?   
Dan finally figured it out that it has an electronic fan for exhaust.  If that's off, it turns the gas off.    He ran an extension cord to it from the generator and we now have hot water again.

I’m on well, and the pump is electric.  So no power, no water, hot or otherwise.  So no showers or even toilet flushing.

The good thing now is I have my camper trailer and a generator for it.

You got power back yet Jules?

:(  nope.   37 hours now. :(

We do have city water.  So good there too.   I'm just glad Dan knew how everything needed hooked up.  Kevin always handled that stuff.   
The sump pump was the biggy.  A flooded basement is not something I want.
