Waking up in a far away hotel, only to discover your wife drank all the coffee pods in your room last night.

The BITCH..

That said, if that's the worst thing that happens today, it'll be a pretty good day.

That is all.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Snow flurries forecasted for today.   Windchill in the teens.     Have I ever mentioned I strongly dislike the cold and snow?

Seems to be a theme.

It's no joke to struggle with it. Been doing so since I was little.

Sorry to hear about it. Stay strong.

Now you know why your comments hit a nerve with me.  I tell my children “It’s a permanent solution to a temporary problem.”

I know. Believe me I know it's no joke. Literally the only thing that's kept me from doing it is my kids and family.

It seems harder not to do it than it is to do it.

When you check out, it’s over for you, but the people who love you are left to pick up the pieces and try to make sense.  I can’t make sense of it, because these are people who are extraordinarily well off.  Top 5% in America, top 1% in the world.  Why the fuck would you think killing yoursrlf is an option?  The answer is serious mental health issues.

Money isn't everything. It can't give you true love. I find that is what a lot of us are needing... more love and less hate and negativity.

Sitting in the ICU with my friend.  He posted about ending it, and over 200 people responded.  It wasn’t for a lack of love.  I think it is more from a uniquely negative perception of people, events, and your own self.  I can’t climb in his head to experience his world view.

Most of the suicides I have known fall into three categories.  1.  Mental heath issues: depression, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia.  2.  Terminal illness, or 3.  Scandal, bankruptcy, criminal prosecutions.

He’s going to have a psychiatric workup before discharge, so hopefully we can figure out what he needs going forward.

That sucks. Sometimes the attempt is a cry for help. My ex made 2 attempts about 28 or so years ago. One of them while in the hospital getting treatment for several mental health issues. And one at home on Mothers' Day with the kids in the house. All I could do was call 911 and hold her until she was taken to the hospital. I couldn't go with her because I had to stay with my 2 daughters who were 3 and 1 at the time.

Afterwards, all I could do was look after the kids and provide as much support as I could. 28 years later, she still has issues but to my knowledge hasn't attempted to kill herself since. I think that despite the emotional toll it took on her, the kids coming with me when we divorced helped by taking the pressures of parenthood away so that she could get "better".

Do what you can for your loved one. Be sure to take care of yourself first.

That is all.

Mrs JBRG and I made the decision last night to take our oldest cat to the vet when she gets home after work today to have the old gal put down.

Max is almost 18 and has been with us since she was a kitten. Max came into our home the same day we had Mrs' cat down (her Pet Monster). Max has been the little sister to one cat (Homer was put down a month after we got Max) and the big sister to 2 other cats and 3 dogs.

Max has been giving us signs that it's time for a while. She has lost so much weight over the past couple of years that she is just skin and bones. She has gone deaf, has diminished eye sight, doesn't clean herself anymore and, when possible, doesn't go downstairs to use the litter box.

The next 8 hours or so are going to be hard for me but in the end, Max will be out of pain and in the spiritual company of Monster (whom she replaced in hour home), Homer (whom I took in because a friend was allergic), Fitz dog (a rescue dog who had medical issues that could not be controlled) and Red Dog (old age).

That is all.

Still caring for my wife who is recuperating from her knee replacement. All going well until I put my back out this morning. It's a bastard....
