What are your dreams like?

I don’t have dreams.. I’m always to drunk. If I do I can’t remember.

I don’t remember them often and I never know I’m dreaming until I wake up.

Most of my dreams involve tension or anxiety.

I dreamed I was making an omelet for my foster child, watching a Jacque Pepin video on YouTube.  So I woke up hungry and started making an omelet based on the instructions from my dream (melted butter, whipped egg whites, fold in the yolks).  My oldest son comes downstairs and says, “Hey could you make me an omelet?”  I said, “I dreamed about making an omelet, and I’ve already started.”  Strange.

So I dreamed I walked into my bedroom, and my father was having sex with my wife. I yelled at both of them and started to go down the stairs. My father chased me and asked, “what’s wrong?” I replied, “how the hell can you fuck my wife in my own bed? I’m too old. I don’t need to see that. There’s not enough brain bleach on the planet to get rid of that image.” He replied “I wasn’t fucking Natasha, I was fucking Amanda.” Amanda was my Legal Assistant for many years. They both followed me into the kitchen, protesting innocence, and trying to explain how the whole thing came about. I replied, “I don’t give a shit. Take it down to a hotel. Dad, don’t fuck anybody in my bed. There’s no reason to do that.“

So my day starts out with some strange mental images. I’m sure Freud would have a field day with that one.

WOW, much more exciting than my dream.   I was planting tulip bulbs and the surface was too hard to remove with my bulb planting tool.  A shovel wouldn't even penetrate the dirt.

My German Shepherd was barking during the night.  That’s not too unusual, so we’ve gotten used to it mostly sleeping through it.  Last night was far worse than usual, it was literally every hour on the hour barking for 20 minutes at a time.  It started to merge with my sleep and dreams.

I had dreams she was barking at a break in, but I couldn’t get up to face the intruders.  Next I dreamed I was at my grandparents house and they had a break in, except she’s been dead 5 years and him for 30 years.  I go in the back door which is off the hinges, and my German Shepherd ‘s fur is all matted, and she has a broken leg.  I feel terrible she’s hurt and was barking to try and tell me.  So I get out of bed to check on the dog who is fine.  I let her out for a few minutes.  As soon as she’s back, the barking resumes.  At this point I’m, ‘SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!’

Like toe, looking forward to sleep this weekend.  OK, he said that in the Ruin thread, but oh well.

I haven't had an erotic dream in quite a while.   Usually a bear is chasing me or something, or I'm going over hills on a bike and go really high and I don't recall if I land safely or not.  The nice things about my dreams is that I speak normally and everyone can understand me.  I tend to yell at Dan a lot in my dreams though, which I never do in real life (well, maybe once or twice).

To answer the question, mine are murky and un-remembered. Sometimes I'm aware that I'm dreaming even during the dream, but can't remember what it was about when I wake up.

Maybe it is because of your earlier post where you wrote that now that you have a family, your worries have increased.  Happens to many.

I have dreams of our neighbor looking from his upstairs window down into our backyard when I'm out there by the pool.   Sometimes I'm just laying on the raft in the pool.  Other times I'm reading while getting some sun.   I have these dreams often and most recently in the last couple of weeks.

Just five minutes ago, I slipped on my shoes and walked out to see the condition of the pool, which we opened last week.   As I'm about to walk back in the house, I glance next door and Matt is looking out his upstairs window at me.  

Creepy!

But, yes, creepy when you can sense someone watching you and then you actually see him watching.

I watch as a friend (no clue who this is) goes into the water, and suddenly a huge crocodile erupts out of the water trying to eat him.  The crocodile is so big, it’s mouth is as wide as 6 feet easily able to swallow a person whole, probably 50 feet long.  The guy somehow gets behind the mouth of crocodile and ends up on it’s head as the crocodile runs out of the water.  I’m in a pickup truck, and I drive down, turn and began driving parallel to the running crocodile yelling at the guy to jump off of the crocodile’s head into the back of the truck, so he does.

Somehow now 3 of us are running from the crocodile who is faster than us.  We’re running around in all directions until we split up, but unfortunately the crocodile is after me.  It corners me against a wall, and I know I’m going to be eaten, but I’m still trying to fight. It opens its snout to eat me, and I shove real hard on its snout trying to stay alive and nearly shove my Peruvian out of bed.

Getting yelled at is what woke me up.  So now I’m in the Can’t Sleep Club.
