Went to the range today. These are the best results. I had to brag somewhere.

My new Sig Sauer P239 at 8 rounds at 5 yards

Springfield 1903A3 at 25 yards over iron sights.

Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU sniper at 75 yards.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Remind me never to piss you off.  ;D

While you're waiting in vain for that apology, why don't you make yourself useful by getting on your knees and opening your mouth

The iron sight groups are not as impressive over 50 yards, but I claim that it is more difficult to get a good sight and target picture shooting at an indoor range where the light is poor over the muzzle of your rifle.

Nice Shooting and I agree with you.
Outdoor lighting is usually much better than indoor.
"but" on the other hand indoor shooting lets you concentrate more on the target (straight line) there is little wind or cross wind to contend with. I personally would rather shoot outdoors on a range rather than indoors, and if you are shooting for distance then wind becomes a large factor in outdoor shooting.
My M-14 is a poor choice for an indoor range, rather I try to follow the shooting practices of the USMC and stay within the 300 yard to 500 yard distance, Which the M-14 excels.

Love,
Liz

Shooting well requires work, concentration, mastery of your body for specific actions. It is like any sport in those requirements. It is more akin to golf and bowling than most other sports.

There is a zen like quality to the concentration an focus required. The body cannot be tense and tight. It must be relaxed and focused upon the function of the muscles.

The satisfaction of doing that coupled with the almost instant feedback for your performance makes this very rewarding for me.

Outdoor ranges and ranges extending past 200 meters to 600 meters require, as Liz stated, the application of mental calculation for external forces. Just how good are you at the application of Kentucky windage.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

lol - 300 to 500 yards?  Hope you are using a scope.  I liked the M-14.  Was a very reliable weapon.

Never use a laser sight. It gives away the element of surprise and your position.

Me thinks that idea may have crossed her mind a few times already....And without Katie using a laser she would be that much harder to spot. Do a lot of zigging and zagging and never stop.... ;D

Nice groups, Katie!  I wish I had time to get to the range.  My Garand and carbine keep calling me.

I am like Charlie the Tuna.  I don't want women with good taste, I want women who taste good.

My M1 carbine, after zero, still shoots 2 inches high. I have to adjust my sight picture for a 6 o'clock hold.

I love shooting it. Such a great design.

A better design is sex.   Hmmm, maybe you see the rifle as a phallic symbol.... 8)

No. Sex for me is a bit different. Phalluses have no attraction for me.

And as for rifles, it isn't about whose dick is bigger, or penis envy, it's about reaching out and touching someone, permanently.
