I've forgotten who holds the record for the longest-distance confirmed kill with the M82; Google says 2 Aussie commandos in Afghanistan at 2815 meters, significantly beyond the stated 'effective' range of 1800 yards.  Previous record was a British corporal, 2475 meters, "two kills" (undetermined from that whether he shot twice or killed two guys with one .50cal round).  Yeah, it'd punch through you and the platoon behind you.  :-*

Not to be a downer but I've had to put a few animals down in my day so picking up my gun is generally a negative. If I am going to shoot, a hot wad in or on "T" generally makes my day!

I use adhesive reactive target pasties after each magazine. It makes me feel good when I take a target down after several magazines and look at the back. I always grin when I see that the there is a 2 inch hole where I've sjot the majority of my aimed rounds.

Nothing like the smell of gun powder and the feel of a warm barrel to cure what ails you. I sent some 17 hmr downrange yesterday. I picked up a Ruger American last fall. I've put a box and a half through it so far. It's a wicked little thing. I've seen a round go through a milk jug filled with water and the exit hole was the same size as the entrance. That bullet is really moving. I have to do something about the factory irons though. The front fiber optic is fine but the rear sight leaves a lot to be desired. The sight picture is ok but the only way to adjust windage is to knock the dovetail left or right. Not easy nor precise. It's shooting high and right currently. Any suggestions on a good aftermarket adjustable rear sight?
