Yesterday,  Trump told the EPA to loosen the standards for shower heads, claiming the now 2.5 gallons a minute flow is not enough to do his hair. He also insisted the restricted flow makes showering longer and harder.

I'll admit that I am torn on this topic.

While I rarely take a shower that lasts more than 5 minutes, the shower in my apartment has a water-saving shower head. I am happy to do my part to be green, but there are times when I wish I had a stronger stream when washing my hair (which is a bit longer and a lot less orange than the president's).

Trump is essentially a Trump supremacist, living in a Trump-centric fantasy and valuing a Trump First approach above all else. The rest of his opinions and positions can be changed on demand for the highest bidders, as long as those bidders are willing to serve the Trump First philosophy.

He sees the world as divided into two groups of people: the Trump loyalists on one hand and the traiterous enemies on the other. If you aren't actively supporting him and praising him, then in his eyes you are actively working against him by default and you must be punished appropriately. Sometimes a few disagreements is all it takes for someone to go from being a 'fantastic friend, the very best' to becoming a 'horrible person, absolute scum' in the Trumpiverse. This is especially true in his role as President, because 'Do as I say or I'll fire you on the spot' isn't nearly as effective in the political world as in the corporate.

Trump First is why, for example, he could focus his travel ban on Muslim countries, and at the same time he has no problem working with Muslims if he thinks there is a good deal to be made for him personally. There is a reason Saudi Arabia was never part of the travel ban ..or why he'll try to make himself appear anti-Communist by tweeting against China, while simultaneously verbally fellating North Korean leadership to give the impression of being a political strongman. Life is one big photo op for Trump. He'll do whatever he thinks it takes to make himself look good, and he fully expects everyone else to work on making him look good as well.

This is the biggest difference between Hitler and Trump. Even though Hitler also suffered from delusions of grandeur, he actually believed in all the dumb shit he was preaching. He also sought to surround himself with people who didn't necessarily agree with every single word but who at least shared a common political and racial philosophy with him.

Meanwhile, I highly doubt that Trump honestly believes, for example, there was massive voter fraud that cost him the election. Yet insisting on it over and over again serves the Trump First philosophy in 1) it gives him a reason to keep from conceding and admitting that he lost, 2) it's a way for him to continue to 'piss off the libs' and even Republicans who do not believe in the voter fraud, and 3) it is part of his strategy for him to try to stay in the spotlight as much as possible for the foreseeable future. ..at least until he finds something better to serve Trump First than the possibility of a run in 2024.

Trump has a bridge to sell, and people are willing to buy that bridge for a long list of different reasons. It's not as simple as dismissing all of them as deplorables or Nazis. Sure, some are actual Nazis, who see him as the means to reach their hopes of a country that is at least a little whiter and more American. There are also those who would like to see an actual wall built not because of nativism or racism, but rather because they think the subject of border security has not been taken seriously enough.

Among them are even some legal immigrants that worry that undocumented migrants could be treated like economic refugees down the road, which they would consider an insult against the legal immigrants having had to spend a lot of time, money, and effort to follow all the rules and come here legally.

Yet the majority of people care primarily about the one or two issues that affect them the most, and many Trump voters don't pay attention to the 2 a.m. tweetstorms from the White House toilet or to most else he says, as long as they have the feeling the economy keeps improving.  ..or maybe they're someone who's job is on the chopping block, and having a president speaking out against outsourcing to China gives them a certain comfort.

True, some support him mostly because they worry that all the disinformation with which they are bombarded on social media and by Trump himself could be true. Biden might shut down the economy and let the Chinese/Cubans/Venezuelans take over. Harris could lead BLM-sponsored riots and put white people into racial reeducation camps. Something, something about Soros and about late term abortions in there as well. Finally, there are the cultists, the true believers who convince themselves that Democrats want to destroy them and Republicans are willing to let it happen. They couldn't care less about anything other than wanting Trump to inflict maximum damage on the legal and political systems, as well as the shifting cultural and social fabric, they see as the great enemy.

So Trump is a lot of different things to a lot of different Trump supporters, and just like with any other group of people, it's too easy to paint them all with the same broad brush. ..but they all have one thing in common, and that is Trump's willingness is serve their varied interest is limited to only furthering his own interests and the philosophy of Trump First.

When democrats and republicans come together to vote against their own party, at a huge risk of being cancelled, and you see such a huge reaction constantly for four years. As they Put in a guy barely functional.when Republicans refuse to see any of the cases of fraud no matter how baseless you think they are. All the scandals all the defamation and you think the establishment is right and the people wanting change are the bad people? If you could really think for yourself and not believe what media tells you, would you think maybe I’m wrong?

I read this three times and could not figure out what point you were trying to make here.

Not a peep from him about the out of control pandemic and that Russia is now the U.S. government’s IT Dept., but the scourge of low pressure showers is being addressed.

I took a long hot bath last night while sipping eggnog and bourbon, so I think I’ll survive.

In little over a month, he will officially be gone as president. Unfortunately, as a narcissist, he  and his loyal subjects will attempt to keep the Trump name in the news as long as he can.

Trump is officially President until January 20th.  If his current actions are any indication he will spend the time crying about his loss and not doing his job. He could be using the powers of the presidency to speed the rollout of the vaccine and may other things that need a President's attention.  Sadly, he's doing nothing that needs done, proving his obsession with being reelected was all about stroking his ego and not because he actually wanted the job.

Did I say he was doing nothing? I might be a bit wrong. He got Kushner to set up a shell company used to launder his re-election campaign funds and make transfers directly to himself and his family members.

He could also be touching off nuclear armageddon out of petulence. I for one am happy about his inaction and hope it continues until 1/20/2021.

And on and on it goes! :emot_banghead:
After delay after delay Congress finally passed the much needed Covid relief bill.

To continue to prove he's the sorest bad loser, asshay Trump now get revenge on Republicans for admitting Biden won.

His threat to veto the relief bill is more of this, "I'm taking my ball and going home" attitude.

Personally, I feel if he hasn't already had a mental breakdown he will soon.

12 hours later, this is old news.

The bill passed by a huge bipartisan majority, 359–53 in the House and 92–6 in the Senate, and GOP lawmakers have sent a clear and uncertain signal that they have no loyalty to Trump.

Speaking of old news, Trump vetoed the bill about 30 minutes ago. Those majorities are veto-proof, and both houses have more than enough votes to override the veto, which they will very shortly do.

"And on and on it goes!"

The actions of swamp weasels is only 'legal' because they say it is, and because the voters do not care enough to make their own weasels pay the price. Every two years, the swamp gets a pass, spends billions to do so, and gives away even more billions to their 'donors' causes.

It is obscene that 5500 odd pages, give away "$600" supposedly, in the name of Covid Relief, so it has NO LIMIT except the one Legislators impose... nice job if you can get it, eh?

Stunts like the Covid Relief Bill are among the reasons voters elected Trump, on the chance he might make a difference, and was not afraid to oppose such behavior...

The Stunts are still there, the Swamp is still there/here, and the need to displaced the weasels remains, without any regard to who the President may be...

What does Trump care about the economy? Nothing. He tries to bluff the Democrats with his $2000. per taxpayer and the Dems called his bluff. Now everything is at a stalemate, again.

Trump first ran on the promise to "drain the swamp".  He found out that the creatures in the swamp are much smarter and stronger then him and the swamp ended up eating Trump.

I think he is just throwing numbers out there.  Whether it's feasible or not.

I want to give each American $10,000.  Look at me, I care about the american people, those politicians don't.

Problem is, the average trump support will see the dollar signs and not even think about where that money comes from.

I also see him sabotaging this because it may help the economy, but he won't be in office when that happens, and if it fails, he point a finger at Biden and say that if he were still president, he would have brought the economy back.

He is a weaselly salesman who's setting up a big sale of his BS

Trump's call for $2000 checks was nothing more than a big FU to the Republicans who acknowledged President Biden's win. He cares nothing for the office of the President or the fate of the country. I'm hoping this will all come around to bite him on his fat ass.

Trump is the Caligula of our times, but unfortunately, he was as relatively boring and dreary as he was inept. Given the sway he obviously has over the Republican party, he might have done something truly interesting, like getting a horse elected to the Senate, or had his cabinet officers and loyal congress toadies from both houses whore out their wives to the general public in exchange for payments to his superpacs. They could've used the Trump Hotel in DC for the whorehouse. Now that would have been some unforgettable history.

Well, there's always 2024.

As of this writing, Trump hasn't married one of his sisters, appointed his horse to the Senate, or invaded Mauretania.

Though he has made vague claims of divinity, so I suppose them may have that in common.

He still has 27 days left. For Trump, though, it would have to be his daughter and New York State respectively. The horse part would be fine. Let's hope he makes McConnell resign to allow for the horse.
