Rudy Giuliani, trump's personal attack dog, had a melt down at a recent press conference. No, I mean literally, he started to melt.

Rudy either used a really cheap hair dye, or he'd touched up his sideburns with some mascara that proceeded to run down his face.

The press conference was the usual crap...voter fraud, evidence...no we don't need no stink'n evidence. :D

The comedy of errors these clowns continue to exhibit makes me wonder why the country hasn't totally gone to heck.  Oh wait...it is headed that way.

Here is a guy who went from practically eliminating Mob influence in New York City to being a puppet for Trump. What a downfall. And it shows.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.

Sadly, I don't think our Trump thread or Donald himself will be irrelevant any time soon. His "government in exile" and influence over the Republican Party will likely last as long as 35+ million Americans live inside a propaganda bubble that causes them to ignore their own genuine best interests in exchange for a kind of certainty.

Here was a numbskull of a racist/facist who still got the second highest vote total for a US presidential candidate in the history of this country. I fear that unless we educate large swaths of our electorate in critical thinking and/or civics right quick, the next "Trumpist" candidate could not but be that micron less obvious and self-destructive, and soon after that, by popular acclaim, we'll have a new and more permanent President for Life and the dream of this particular democracy wil end.

If I learned anything in the last four years, I learned how fragile our democracy really is. We have an opportunity to pull ourselves back from the brink, but it's a narrow and rapidly closing one. It starts with all people who care about all people's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness working either directly or indirectly to register voters in the state of Georgia.

The history of this country has always been a struggle between the enlightened ideal of liberty and justice for all as a birthright and the definition of "all" orignially meaning an extremely small group of people. This systemic fascism and racism is still baked deeply into the fabric of our society. It's just that now it's being expertly exploited and harnessed. It's time for us to bring the magic of FDR again and make fascism un-American.

I don't disagree with what you say here, but to look at it another way, I think the 2020 presidential election shows how robust and thriving our democracy is. If you cut through the noise, the social media blathering, and the borderline-insane allegations, you'll see that the election proceeded with almost shocking smoothness.

Despite the fact that it was carried out in the midst of a global pandemic, and that more than 100 million votes were cast by absentee, mail-in, or early voting, things proceeded with surprising and dramatic smoothness. There was enough data on hand by Saturday 11/7 -- only four days after Election Day -- to safely project an election winner.

And this all leads to one, shining fact: Joe Biden won the election, and Donald Trump lost the election. In other words, regardless of whether Trump's "systemic fascism and racism is still baked deeply into the fabric of our society," Trump lost. Period.

More to the point, Trump's support from within his own party is quickly dwindling. Yes, 10,000 people marched in Washington DC in support of Trump last weekend, but those 10,000 people represented 0.003% of the population, and only 0.005% of all who voted for Trump in the election. Meanwhile, major players within the GOP are steadily distancing themselves from Trump, and a growing number of GOP members of Congress are demanding that Trump concede and allow the transition process to begin.

Agreed that our government, designed over 200 years ago, stood up ably and admirably well to the second most serious challenge it has faced since the civil war, and we also incidentally got to see that there are plenty of Republicans among us serving at the state and local level who have admirable respect for the Constitution and the rule of law.

Still and all, I would argue that we remain at the bottom of a deep dark hole we dug ourselves, and we have only barely avoided being buried for the immediate moment. Forget Covid-19, it will be forgotten six months from now. Global warming is upon us, and will pose an existential threat for at least the next 50 years. Citizens United has opened the levers of our government fully to psychopath corporations and the wealthy. The middle class, our engine of upward mobility, has all but disappeared. The unregulated media is selling profitable lies like hot cakes to an increasingly vulnerable and fearful public.

My intention in pointing all this out is to emphasize that there are enormous amounts of work still to be urgently done now that we’ve won or rather have not yet lost. We can all make a difference in the near term by contributing in whatever way possible to those two Georgia runoff elections for senate, even if it’s only a few dollars or phone calls.

The only win was to allow poll watchers to move a few feet closer to poll workers counting.

As much as I’d gleefully like to see him forcibly removed, I expect at some point before Jan 20 he’ll take Airforce One to Mar-a-lago and never return.  He’ll still insist he is president and declare a government in exile holding ‘meetings’ at his various golf courses.

On Jan 20 somebody will even have to order Airforce One home to DC.

So...Little Donnie says the transition can begin. Oh, but he still won't concede he lost.

To me, the four years of failed policies, making a joke of insisting he won by a landslide and delaying an orderly transition, make him our C-in C.

Clown in Chief. What a loser.

I've heard that since he can not prove any voter fraud, or illegal ballots, he is now putting it on Biden to prove that votes are legal.

What a sad little boy he is.

It’s all part of Putin’s plan to divide the country long after Biden’s swearing in as President.  Trump has been and will continue to be Putin’s puppet keeping us divided with most of the Republican Party as willing participants.

I think Trump still believes it’s about him.  So in that way, he in his mind isn’t colluding.

Let’s see when and if Putin finally congratulates Biden?

So The Donald paid 3 million bucks to recount two Wisconsin counties. One county has finished and did find a mistake. President Biden got over 300 more votes!

Money well spent Trump.

***Yes, I said President Biden, as we don't have a President, IMHO.

OK, I mis-remembered the totals.  Biden made a net gain of 132 votes.  The recount found 257 extra Biden votes and 125 votes extra for trump.

But county election officials in Milwaukee County completed their recount on Friday and found that Biden actually made a total net gain of 132 votes out of nearly 460,000 votes cast.

This further boosted Biden's margin of victory, who overall gained 257 votes to Trump's 125.

Imagine a Trump that wasn’t this incompetent.

Imagine a Trump that sincerely admired the military, maybe even served, and has nearly universal support of the military.

Imagine a Trump that was an actual ardent evangelical Christian.

Imagine all that combined with all Trump’s narcissism, his dishonesty, his venal corruption, his embrace of racism, his misogyny and his lust for power.

In many ways we dodged a bullet this time.  Will we the next time an inexplicably charismatic demagogue shows up?
