My mommy brought this up as we were discussing "WW3". She said "I bet it's about oil."

It's about oil. Let's all pretend we're surprised another war for oil is starting up. :emot_weird:

Iran oil: New field with 53bn barrels found

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-50365235

A new oil field that would increase Iran's proven reserves by about a third has been discovered, President Hassan Rouhani has said.

The field, in the south-western province of Khuzestan and about 2,400 sq km (926 sq miles) in area, contains 53 billion barrels of crude, he said.

Iran has been struggling to sell oil abroad because of tough US sanctions.

They were imposed after the US pulled out of a nuclear deal with world powers last year.

No need for oil since the U.S. now produces, and is capable of producing, all the oil our country needs. Is easier with oil from Middle East for everyone, but for the U.S., is no longer necessary.

Allies still need oil, of course, and could buy from the United States, should Iran be destroyed, and contaminated for some time, as well as from some other sources than Iran, and Iraq.

Oh, please. All is never enough with these people. They probably heard this news and immediately thought "bomb the bastards". It not only puts money in the pockets of weapons manufacturers, but them sweet new oil reserves in the pockets of oil corporations. I'm sure Disney will find a way to profit off it too.

Wow, contaminated. . . . .

toe calls you John.  John Bolton, is that you?

I can’t leave leave it there with a half joke.  Someone here just suggested offhandedly that nuclear weapons might be used, and they did so without any indication of trepidation or horror at the consequences.

Somehow a boo is woefully inadequate.

The most fun of this is watching spoiled rich celebrities get down on their knees and mimic blowing the dictators of Iran from their gated communities and mansions in Hollywood. Michael Moore looks like he committed treason with a tweet.  :emot_laughing:

"Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian military general who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Iraq on Thursday, was responsible for the deaths of over 600 U.S. soldiers in Iraq."

But you've got Hollywood elites crying and begging for mercy from Iran because of this piece of shit.

Should we have bombed him? No, it should have been done a long time ago. Did he deserve it? Yes. Will it lead to a war? Um, let's think about that for a second. Does Iran want to be nuked into oblivion?

Anyone mourning the loss of this psychopath just proves how awful they themselves are.

And can we please try to keep the childish name calling and insults to a minimum and engage in civil discourse?

Jeb-coming from the guy who likes to suggest civil war in his own country.

A nuclear exchange is very unlikely even between superpowers. Sure for some it’s like getting excited to watch the newest horror movie. I liked chirping girls last’s message for the most part. Is a good thing...yes. Should we dance in the streets as they would do while burning flags and planning more attacks...nope. Should we fear Iran...please bore me with your logic on reasons to fearing the Iranians. Not that they can’t do some damage. We took their navy out in one day and can do it again with ease. We’ve taken their top military leader out. There is much hold back from using the full force of the US military as there should be. Had our soil (Embassy) not been attacked he may still be alive.

I didn’t know the former Governor of Florida was on this site and suggesting civil war?

Whatever this Solemani guy was, he was also a hero to the Iranian people.  The Iranian people have been moving away from the hardliners for quite somtime now, and indications were that change (good for us) was coming.  Sadly this act has brought Iranians back to the side of the hardliners, and enforced the belif that America cannot be trusted.

Does anyone know if all the above points are correct?  I just ask because I've often found lots of falsehoods  in right-wing facts.

Yeah, right. NCR-Iran = National Council of Resistance on Iran, hardly a nuetral source.

Please prove the allegations using a neutral source.

And did you even know who Soleimani was before the bombing happened?  I doubt you or Gunnerman had any idea.  Joan might have, but that's doubtful too.

I know Qasem Soleimani was not known to me before he was assisinated.  Then I learned about a dumb plot concerning the Quds forces with regards to a plan to assasinate the Suadi Ambasador to the United States, along with planned bombings of the Israeli and Saudi embassies in Argentina, and a planned bombing of the Isreali embassy in D.C.  However, this plot was foiled when Quds tried to hire a Mexican drug cartel to carry out these acts.  We found out about it because their contact in the cartel was a DEA informant who notified the FBI.

Other information about Qasem Soleimani included that he was working with the Kurds and Iraqis to fight ISIS.

I know a lot of our animosity towards Iran has to do with a long ago storming of our Embassy and the taking of hostages.  But that was long ago and the hostages were freed.  We have the same kind of long standing grudge with Cuba.  Maybe instead we should have taken the course we took with Vietnam.  Normalize realations and move on.

Instead we've taken a course with both Cuba and Iran that gurantees these regimes staying in power.  When there is no Iron Curtain as we've seen in Eastern Europe., governments come tumbling down.  There is no greater revolutionary force that consumerism.  Let the markets rule.

Lois-there are a few different ways that I’ve heard of Soleimani before you ever heard his name. One I will clue you in on. I worked with some Iranians on 2 separate occasions. One was just shortly after 9-11 and the other was about 6 years ago. You don’t know as much as you assume...about me, the people of Iran, or much of what’s going on over in that part of the world.

Please prove the allegations using a biased leftist liberal CNN or New York times based source.  :emot_laughing: Who gives a fuck what Iranians who hate the government think. He was a great man after all. Candle light vigil worthy.  :emot_laughing:

Like I said. Awful.

The question isn’t whether he was bad or not.  He was bad.  The question is why now when both Republican and Democrat previous administrations along with Israel decided as a strategic decision to mitigate risk not to target him in the past.

Trump says it was to prevent an imminent attack, without any supporting evidence.  But Trump also has over 15,000 documented lies since being in office.  We all know it was done as a distraction to impeachment.  So American lives are now in jeopardy to shift the conversation away from impeachment to Iran.

And hurtling us towards war should not be a campaign strategy.  As with everything about Trump, it’s never about what’s best for the country and always about what he perceives is best for him.

I told you why now. Iran found more oil. There's no other reason needed.  :emot_shrug:

No one cares what he did.  I'm 100% sure it's about the oil. If Iran counter attacks, it'd be suicidal and we'd launch all out war and exterminate them and 6 months later a newly elected president with ties to an oil corporation will be installed. Democratically, of course.

Haha Jeb  :emot_laughing: Fuck you crack me up! The whole Republican Party wants the article of impeachment to be sent to the Senate but Nancy won’t send them, haha and it’s President Trump that’s trying to take attention away from impeachment haha. It’s so hard to play fair with your logic haha
