Geez Joan. Don’t you remember why there was increased borrowing that year? The financial crisis was in full bloom.
The borrowing this year is because your conservative Congress people cut revenues and increased spending.

So not as high borrowing as in 2010? How was the economy doing in 2010?
Is your job, and future, better today than it was in 2010?
Who was President in those days of 2010, when borrowing was higher?
Aaah, I see. Carry on...

U.S. borrowing on pace to top $1.3 trillion this year, the highest since 2010

Quote
The increase in projected spending is necessary, in large part, to finance the $1.5 trillion in tax cuts passed late last year Republicans in Congress and signed by President Trump. Earlier this year the Congressional Budget Office warned that the bill was causing the government to burn through cash more quickly as a result of reduced tax revenue.

Oh good grief, things were bad 2 years after a disastrous Republican presidency, and now things are good 2 years after a recovery under a Democrat.  It takes a few years to affect the economy numbnuts.

The conspirators have opened themselves up to a Libel suit at the very least, if not obstructction of justice.

Right-wing clowns are not all that funny

Quote
Trump insisted on going to Pittsburgh for a photo op, which House and Senate majority and minority leaders, Pittsburgh’s mayor and the Pennsylvania governor refused to attend given that the city is in the midst of holding massive funerals for the 11 murdered Jews. The day was about them, not Trump. Desperate to have company, he got Israel’s ambassador, Ron Dermer, to go with him. Meanwhile, a sizable group of protesters sang, prayed and objected to his visit. (Not even the family of murdered Daniel Stein, 71, wanted to meet with Trump.)

The Associated Press reported, “Robert Mueller’s office has referred to the FBI allegations that women were ‘offered money to make false claims’ about the special counsel, according to Mueller’s spokesman . . . The statement didn’t specify what the claims were, but the referral to the FBI — and a rare public statement about it from the special counsel’s office — suggests that Mueller’s office believed there was a potential crime for federal law enforcement to investigate.” An outfit called Surefire Intelligence allegedly was hired by GOP conspiratorialist Jack Burkman, who supposedly offered $20,000 to a woman who said she barely met Mueller at a law firm where Mueller worked to claim he sexually harassed her. (The law firm doesn’t  have records of her employment.) The kicker, Natasha Bertrand reported, sounds like the operation was on a par with buffoons’ scheme to break skater Nancy Kerrigan’s leg:

Surefire’s domain records list an email for another pro-Trump conspiracy theorist, Jacob Wohl, who began hyping a “scandalous” Mueller story on Tuesday morning. Wohl told The Daily Beast that Burkman had hired Surefire to assist with his investigation into Mueller’s past, but denied knowing anything about the firm’s involvement in an alleged plot to fabricate allegations against Mueller when asked why his email address appeared in the domain records. He did not respond when asked by NBC why a number listed on Surefire’s website referred callers to another number that is listed in public records as belonging to Wohl’s mother.

It’s not clear if Wohl lived in his mother’s home (or maybe the basement thereof). Fiction writers rarely make up characters this stupid.

Finally, on an already poor day for xenophobic right wingers, “The chairman of the House Republican campaign arm on Tuesday condemned recent remarks made by Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on white nationalism, becoming the highest-profile GOP leader to rebuke the lawmaker to date,” The Post reported. (Why he wasn’t thrown out of the caucus years ago is something he should explain.) The Post also reports, “Land O’Lakes has withdrawn its support of a conservative lawmaker after the dairy company’s political donation churned up online cries for a boycott of its products.” It surely seems that some of King’s support is melting away; a new poll has him in a statistical tie with his Democratic opponent.

I could possibly make a case for RICO.  Conspiracy to commit Enterprise Corruption, because this attack was made in accessory after the fact to Fraud, and Embezzlement from the US Government.  (Also Interfering with a Federal Investigation, into Fraud, Embezzlement, and Election Tampering.)  According to the standards of Conspiracy, the accessories do not even need to be aware of each other's actions, so long as they act in the furtherance of the crimes (Which includes covering up the crimes.)

Trump pardoned conspiracy theorist Dinesh D'souza.  I'd be very surprised if Wohl and Pizzagater Burkman even get a fine.

Donald Trump and other GOP candidates want to radically change a 150-year-old cornerstone of American citizenship

Quote
Sep. 17, 2015, 2:56 PM

Quote
Trump's immigration proposal, crafted with the help of one of the most conservative members of the US Senate, is full of red meat that has until this point been largely advocated by anti-illegal-immigration groups — not presidential candidates.

Perhaps the most radical change in the plan, however, is the one aimed at ending the concept of birthright citizenship — overturning a key concept of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. That issue was again thrown into the discussion loop Wednesday night, during the second Republican presidential debate on CNN.

"A woman gets pregnant. She's nine months, she walks across the border, she has the baby in the United States, and we take care of the baby for 85 years. I don't think so," Trump said during the debate.

"And by the way, Mexico and almost every other country anywhere in the world doesn't have that. We're the only ones dumb enough, stupid enough to have it. And people — and by the way, this is not just with respect to Mexico. They are coming from Asia to have babies here, and all of a sudden, we have to take care of the babies for the life of the baby."

Even some of Trump's most frequent sparring partners in the Republican field, like Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), agree with him on the issue.

"Well, I hate to say it, but Donald Trump has a bit of a point here," Paul said Wednesday night.

This is not a new thing.

This is why Rapist Kavanaugh needed to be on the bench.

Yeah, but it didn't have to be him.  I seriously doubt they'll be able to change the definition of a Citizen of the United States.  If you're born here, you're American.  (Also in other circumstances not pursuant to this debate.)  It's not unique to America, I could probably scare up a list of similar laws around the world, but I love how he specifically says "They don't have this in Mexico....  This isn't about Mexico, but."  He doesn't want to sound Racist.

I would think (IDFKNE more, with this level of corruption) it would take a Constitutional Amendment to change the definition of American Citizen.  That's not the SCotUS' job, however, they can overturn it, if Congress manages to pass it.  I seriously doubt that Kavanaugh is the lynchpin that would hold that together, but he could play his part.  It basically takes all 3 Branches to push through something like that, and let it stand.

We all know by now that The Don lacks even a basic understanding of what citizenship involves.  We knew that when he was calling Obama an immigrant.  If he's spearheading this, he stands a good chance to fuck it up trying to help.

Yeah, and we got Marriage Equality passed, but that doesn't re-define Citizenship.  You understand that there are Executive Orders, Legislative Bills, and Judicial Rulings, right?  Redefining citizenship is one of those things that requires all 3, because it's a Constitutional issue.

President Donald Trump and his family were heartily welcomed at the Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, where they visited with the survivors, and medical professionals who gave, and now give survivors excellent care. Private cell videos show the event.

They were welcomed by the Rabbi, as well, where the terrorism acts occurred.

Democrat mobs were hastily ginned up to appease leftists, and Media, of course.

Vote on November 6!

Anger, controversy follow Trump on visit to grieving Pittsburgh

Quote
Even before he landed in Pittsburgh there were signs of tension. A group of Jewish leaders penned an open letter, signed by tens of thousands, indicating the president was not welcome in the city unless he firmly denounced white nationalists

Quote
Since taking office, a pattern has emerged in Trump’s handling of national tragedies and disasters. The president's moving and emphatic statements of grief and consolation are often followed with a tweet or offhand remark that undercuts his message.

Quote
"He can fake sympathy for very short periods, but his true character always emerges," said John J. Pitney Jr., a government professor at Claremont McKenna College.
