Trump and his supportes should be told our country does not lock up political rivals, but we do lock up criminals. Maybe they don't know the difference?

Thank you, Katiebee. A Democrat concerned about the Deficit. Who knew?

Oh please, other than Rand Paul and his poppa I can’t name a Republican for a generation the least bit concerned with the deficit (and even the Pauls gets the fix completely wrong).  Dickhead Chaney famously stated that Reagan proved deficits don’t matter.  Republicans cut taxes for the rich and blame dwindling entitlement programs for the deficit all the while knowing they are full of shit.

It’s only been the Democrats that have done anything at all about deficits.  Bill Clinton eliminated the Reagan/elder Bush deficit and Obama masterminded the complete turnaround from the economic debacle that was Dubya’s presidency.  Let’s see how long Trump can ride the Obama economic rebound all the while giving himself credit for not doing shit.

Joan, I guess McConnell didn’t get the memo that they were supposed to reduce spending. They increased spending by 300 billion.

Again, the conservative talking points are NOT based upon hard verifiable facts. Just fairy tales.
You are entitled to your own opinion, Joan, not your own facts.

Katiebee, my question to you was about you, and how you have fared following the November 2016 elections. Are you better off today than you were prior to President Trump, and our booming economy?

How is your personal Retirement Plan looking today, compared to the average of all the time during the Obama Administration? Have you had a salary increase of any size since November 2016?  A bonus? Hope so.
------------------
By the way, the myth that the Clinton Administration wiped out the deficit is just that, a myth. Every year of the Clinton Administration ended in deficit. No surplus was ever recorded under Bill Clinton, despite his raising taxes, when he ran on cutting taxes... just plain lied during his Presidential campaign.
------------------
Are Democrats seeking less than 2% Growth for our future? Or, are you liking the looks of 4% + Growth as our current future portends.

How does "booming economy" square with a 17% increase in the US deficit in the last 12 months?

Or maybe that's somehow the fault of Obama subliminally encouraging all those welfare scroungers?

He had budget surpluses for fiscal years 1998-2001, the only such years from 1970-2016. Clinton's final four budgets were balanced budgets with surpluses, beginning with the 1997 budget. The ratio of debt held by the public to GDP, a primary measure of U.S. federal debt, fell from 47.8% in 1993 to 33.6% by 2000.

It was when Clinton balanced the budget that the Republicans abandoned fiscal conservatism and embraced runaway deficits.  That was when they became the ‘anti’ party of ‘if des fer it, wez again it’.  They look at what Democrats do and claim it’s evil and do the opposite, regardless of how effective it is economically.

My grandfather a staunch Republican told me back in the 1970s that all Democrats wanted to do was spend, spend, spend and didn’t care about the debt that brought.  Now the roles have reversed, and it’s the Republicans that act that way.  Except the ‘giveaways’ are tax breaks for the wealthy instead of trying to help people who are struggling by offering affordable and decent healthcare.

Clinton also gutted the VA.  Gutted it, because of him, the Veterans Administration began producing the worst health "Care" I have ever seen.  In many many case worse than no care.  That money didn't come from thin air, he didn't have the Mint print out more money, he took it from roads, education, and other agencies like the VA.

I'm pretty proud of his presidency, but it wasn't all good.

Let's try to stay on topic about Trump.

Yellow Wall already is deflecting from his antics in one thread, and seems desperate to deflect from his administration gaslighting the murder of a journalist in Saudi Arabia.

The murder, if there was one, is alleged without much to go by to have happened in Turkey, not Saudi Arabia.

The 'journalist' actually did not present "news" but mostly did Opinion pieces, often using his background, a high school classmate of Osama Bin Laden, and a devotee of the Muslim Brotherhood, and Sharia Law, and the irony of his being dealt with harshly by his countrymen is not lost on most who pay attention.

The gentleman is/was a resident Alien in the US, I suppose a citizen of Saudi Arabia, and his interests, those of Turkey and those of Iran seem to coincide, from what I have read recently about his writings and statements.

Let us hope the 'news' of his demise is premature, as is being reported by some in Turkey, who disbelieve reports of his death, and nonsense about his Apple Watch being a witness. The Apple Watch is a slave to an I-Phone, and while it may be possible, if in direct contact with the I-Phone, and if he had the password for the Saudi Arabia Embassy wifi system, to record/transmit some sort of data, it is not likely, and odds are greatly against the probability of such.

Am sure Athos interest in this leftist, at best, is to hope for an entanglement of our President and the death of this controversial Opinion writer. We shall learn more, I am sure, as time passes. Meanwhile, let us hope our business and trade go forward unimpeded with all our friendly to the US nations.

So, deflect, justifiable homiside by association (Was once the Roomate of Osama Bin Ladin) and call Athos a leftist.  (Even if that's true, it's hardly evidence against the alleged murder victim)

LOL, do you really think it's that easy?  He just said Deflection.  When your opponent calls your last move?  Try a different move next time, if you actually have one.

Wages continue to stagnate under Trump.  The divide between the rich and the poor continues to widen and the middle class is shrinking.

If the minimum wage had kept pace with inflation it would be about $22.00/hour today. The result? The average American today is making about $20.00/hour.

Yes, the unemployment rates are down, but the jobs we are doing pay peanuts.  We need more quality jobs, not yet another Smoke Shop on the corner.

Saudi account of Khashoggi killing is widely denounced

The murder, if there was one

If you like I can also provide an article where Eric Trump called it a murder.

So, the 'average' American is paid $20.00 per hour, and many are paid more than this, some less, as makes it the 'average' when the Federal Minimum wage is $7.25 or so per hour, last I looked. The 'average' being about 3x Minimum Wage seems about right.

Markets work to determine the practical wage necessary to hire and retain any citizens for staffing at any job. As it should be. Your own 'stats' show that the 'average' wage received is about where a long ago established Minimum Wage amount would have been, indexed to inflation. No need that I see for such an indexing, none at all.

Elimination of illegal aliens in the workforce is the necessary element to lifting further the practical wages for many, by making citizens more in demand in the workforce, and enforcement of laws against employers of illegal aliens will help.

You really need to not embarrass yourself with economics, Joan. Most of what you say isn’t true, it doesn’t work quite like that.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

LMGTFY

Now, take the average monthly expenses of a 2 child family, divide by 160 (40 hours per week, 4 weeks) and you'll get $25.74 an hour.

Check your math.
