I beg your pardon, isn't this what you are doing with me here? Ordering me to stop posting something? Irony much? And by the way...isn't this EXACTLY what forums are for? To lay out positions so that others may read them and criticize them? I'm quite sure it is.

I'm criticizing how you structured you post because I think what you're doing is deceptive. You don't have to change anything at all, but If you continue to merge you writings with various quotations from articles, without indicating that you're doing it, I'll keep calling you on it (check out my various conversations with Sensualtravler if you don't believe me).

My guess is that you WILL take my comments to heart, however, because I'm actually pointing out a flaw that weakens your arguments. If you incorporate my comments you'll just be that much better at expressing yourself. Clever writers understand that tough critics are really their best friends because they help them to become more powerful writers. But, hey, if you want every discussion between us to be about how you use words to try to deceive your readers, I'm down for that too. Up to you.

I hate to state the obvious, but you're clearly wrong in what you say above; I've already done what you claim no one can do (although I would describe it differently than you do). What's more; I'll definitely do it again.

I don't dispute your right or ability to post anything you want; I couldn't stop you even if I wanted to (and honestly I don't care to -- none of this is that big a deal to me). But surely even you can see that my right to criticize you falls exactly the same way -- totally outside of your ability to control. Given how long you're been here, I'm kind of surprised that I need to explain to you how forums work.

When you mix your own words with quoted sections of text, and don't make a clear distinction when you shift from one to the other, I'll give you a world of grief about it. You're totally free to ignore me. But stop me you can not.

Porn star was paid $130,000 to keep quiet about a relationship with Trump, Wall Street Journal reports

An adult-film star was paid $130,000 by a lawyer for Donald Trump in the weeks before the 2016 election to not talk publicly about a sexual relationship with the then-Republican candidate, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The lawyer, Michael Cohen, allegedly paid Stephanie Clifford to remain silent about an encounter at Lake Tahoe in 2006, a year after Trump married his third wife, Melania, according to the Journal. The Journal said the payment was made to a client-trust account at City National Bank in Los Angeles.

The Washington Post was not able to independently confirm the payment and was not able to reach the bank.

“These rumors have circulated time and again since 2011. President Trump once again vehemently denies any such occurrence, as has Ms. Daniels,” Cohen said to The Post. Cohen also issued a statement that he said was from Clifford, whose professional name is Stormy Daniels.

“Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false,” reads the statement, signed by Stormy Daniels. “If indeed I did have a relationship with Donald Trump, trust me, you wouldn’t be reading about it in the news, you would be reading about it in my book.”

Cohen has called himself Trump’s “fix-it man” and has become part of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election for his emails to Russian officials about a business project there, including a note to Vladi­mir Putin’s spokesman.

Clifford could not be reached for comment. Her partner, Glendon Crain, did not respond to messages. Keith Davidson, a lawyer that the Journal said was representing Clifford, did not respond to emails and phone calls seeking comment.

A White House official said that “these are old, recycled reports, which were published and strongly denied prior to the election.” The official did not specifically respond to the allegation of a payoff to Clifford.

In the days before the 2016 election, the Journal reported that Clifford was in talks with ABC’s “Good Morning America” to air her story about Trump. That report came days after The Washington Post released a video from a 2005 “Access Hollywood” recording in which Trump said he could grab women by the genitals because he was famous.

The Journal also reported in 2016 that the National Enquirer — a publication owned by a close friend of Trump — paid Playboy model Karen McDougal $150,000 for her story about an affair with Trump but never published it.

Clifford, a native of Louisiana, considered running against then-U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R) in 2010 but decided against it.

Her mother, Sheila Weimer, said she hasn’t spoken to Clifford in 12 years and had no idea whether her daughter had made a legal settlement or had a sexual relationship with Trump.

“I don’t have her phone number. I don’t have a way to get in touch with her,” Weimer said. She said her daughter “grew up and went her own merry way.”

Weimer said she did not know her daughter was also known as Stormy or had starred in adult films.

 But she had praise for Trump.

“I love Trump. I think he’s great,” Weimer said. “I think he’s making a lot of good progress for our country.”

Personally I don't care what consenting adults do -probably a rarity for Trump with his history of sexual assault- but I'm not sure Evangelicals are going to approve of this.

It said it had spoken to another actor in pornographic films, Alana Evans. According to Evans, Daniels, at the time of her alleged encounter with Trump, said: “All I’m going to say is: I ended up with Donald in his hotel room. Picture him chasing me around his hotel room in his tighty-whities.”

The Daily Beast also reported that a third adult film star, Jessica Drake, was now subject to a non-disclosure agreement regarding “any and every mention of Trump”.

I wonder if Merv is worried Trump had a tryst with Sasha Grey.  He'd never be able to get those images out of his head.

Apparently you are against the National Park Service, which is kind of odd given this previous response about public lands.

 The Sequester 2013 specifically exempts all White House personnel and operations, including all the people involved with the White House Tours, a seven person office, with volunteers who lead the actual self directed tours.

  The Administration has gone far out of it's way to punish families of tourists, many of whom planned their travel by reserving a White House Tour, arranged through their Congressional Representatives offices over one month in advance.

  Schoolchildren sold candy and collected from neighbors and parents to facilitate their Spring visits to their Nation's Capitol, and this is how the President chooses to inflict pain and spite citizens, and Congress.

I am confused.

I am not confused as to you being a hypocrite.  You got pissed the internet never forgets and chose to move the goalposts.

This reminds us of when Trump three times falsely claimed that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte refused to let President Barack Obama land his plane in Manila. Obama’s visits to the Philippines were uneventful, and we wondered at the time why no one on the White House would point out the mistake to the president.

Here, the president three times has made a claim that again appears based on a misunderstanding. The first time, he included a mysterious caveat – “potentially” – but all caveats have been dropped now. Yet under no scenario is his claim feasible. As far as we can tell, Saipov has not brought a single relative into the country.

Given that this claim of “chain migration” is central to the president’s push to overhaul immigration laws, we are surprised the White House would not try to correct the record. If the president is giving out fake news awards, he should reserve a plaque for himself. His statement resulted in headlines that now appear to be wrong.

The doctor has proclaimed that Trump is incredibly healthy given his age and diet.  He also passed the cognitive tests.

Of course cognitive tests should not be relied upon too much.  You can have serious mental issues and still pass one. Such tests include:

Who is the President of the US?
What day of the week is it?
Demonstrate that you can count backwards from 100. (You only have to reach 93 or so).
