Which records are you referring too NW?

Reread reply 1222 (from me to you) paying particular attention to the quoted portion, containing your own words. That's the record I've been referring to.

That statement is flat out incorrect, and I have proved it. I suggested you might wish to, in addition, retract the insults which went along with your statement, but that's up to you. I've made my point regardless.

I'm sorry that it's difficult to keep the thread of the conversation coherent. I don't blame you for that. There are really several conversations going on at the same time and it gets confusing.

I don't see the relevance as I answered the question already. He has explained several times that it was only temporary until the vetting process could be resolved.

I am sure you will find something, Katiebee... finding not one thing for the past eight years, not one thing, not shipping banned weapons from Libya to Alquida so as to fight with in Syria; not the IRS scandals and missing computer records; not the first Attorney General in history to be found In Contempt of Congress; nada... nothing there, SEE, nothing there as we say there is nothing there.

Trump's business interests will no doubt sort itself, no doubt with your fellow travelers 'marching' or whatever, and that has nothing to do with Executive Actions taken to date. Perhaps the ride would be less bumpy, if Democrats would just "say aaah" and allow the votes to proceed to get his Cabinet fully seated, so legislation can get underway as needed to help resolve some issues.

No Joan, you are missing the point. Trump is now positioned to financially benefit from that executive order. That is specifically not allowed in the constitution. Trump is engineering a Constitutional crisis.

This could actually be an impeachable offense.

From inauguration to impeachable offense in 7 days. A new record.

And as CP pointed out, Muslim isn't a religion. He also reiterated it was to curtail extremist Islamic's.

I don't see the relevance as I answered the question already. He has explained several times that it was only temporary until the vetting process could be resolved.

Huh? Let me, AGAIN, point you back to the quoted portion of that message. Are you seriously trying to claim that your statement was or is accurate?

We can keep at this all night if you want to. My credibility isn't suffering from this.

The fact that Trump has taken a myriad of positions on any number of issues 1) does not change the fact that you statement is demonstrably incorrect, or that 2) it's completely ridiculous to take one of his many statements out of context and claim that "this is the one which actually represents what he wants". How the hell would you know?

You misspoke, and in such a fashion that there's absolutely no way you can cover it up and pretend otherwise. Admit it and move on.

Did you mean to say, Muslim is not a 'race'? What you said was Religion.
I think you meant to say Race. Neither is "Mexican" a race, by the way.

Again: Trump has explained his statements that the Democrats attempt to mislead people on time, and time again. He may have said Muslim initially in the heat of the election, but rephrased his intentions afterwards.

Yeah, just like he is eventually going to release his taxes and he was eventually going to review his ban of journalists from his rallies? Lets cut the shit here. We all know this will be permanent. Not that it needs to be since 1.) There are nearly zero cases of recent refugees committing acts of terror in this country. and 2.) We have some of the most stringent vetting in the world.

Conflict of interest applies to the President in terms of emoluments. And income from those could be interpreted as emollients.

Conflict of interest may be perceived as well as actual. In either case he now has engineered his own initial scandal.

Welcome to reality.

Well what a fuckin' surprise.

Joan, you are ignoring what I said. Because Trump has not extricated himself from his business interests, profiting from them due to foreign giverment involvement, hiring out the locations etc., which can be viewed , if not in actuality an intended result, as an emollient from a foreign government, which is expressly forbidden by the Constitution.

That is not interpretation of actions done by a subordinan. It is a Constitutional crisis. One that does not need to be.

Constitutional crisis is a far cry from any of the incidents you are referring too. One that is not being manufactured by partisan views. It is a concern that is shared by bothe sides.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Your lack of integrity, Sensualtravler, it startling. As I said; I can keep this up all night:

Sensualtravler said: "At no time has Trump even implied he would ban anyone from entering our country because of their religion. Your posting doesn't begin to state the facts."

(The quote above is from reply #1216 in this thread)

I responded with (reply #1218):

Donald Trump: ban all Muslims entering US

Donald Trump, the leading contender to become the Republican party’s nominee for US presidential candidate, has called for a “total and complete shutdown” of the country’s borders to Muslims in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack.

Trump made his most extreme pledge yet – in a race in which he has consistently pushed the boat out on issues of race and immigration – in a statement released to the media through his presidential campaign team.

I'm sorry you see my point as a lack of integrity, but I cannot control what you believe. You may have all night, but I have better things to do than argue politics. We're even on insults, so lets call it a night.

Sensualtravler  said: "I'm sorry you see my point as a lack of integrity, but I cannot control what you believe."

What I believe is immaterial. At issue is the fact that there is an audience of some unknown size which is reading and will read this thread. And anyone who comes to this without a bias will see instantly that you refuse to either recognize or take responsibility for a false statement you made. That's all it is. It's not complicated, and it's not in a gray area in any way. It's black and white. You're wrong, and you refuse to admit it, even when faced, repeatedly, with incontrovertible proof.

Your own wording is exact and specific, and you left yourself no wiggle room whatsoever.

The fact that you continue to tap dance and play word games rather than simply admitting your error speaks volumes. You made a bad decision here. It's like with Nixon; it wasn't the mistake that killed him; it was the attempt to cover it up that took him down.

I'm done with this.
