Hey SensualTraveler,

Computers allow nearly anyone to clip a bunch of video clips together to ridicule others, but it is not really helpful.  Furthermore, the fact that you posted that video makes me feel embarrassed for you.

Which post are you referring to Lois?

"To anger a conservative, lie to him. To anger a liberal, tell him the truth."

Ryan is hinting that they will "look" at Medicare and suggests vouchers are the way to go.  If they succeed at this, Trump, et al will be history.

What has whatever Speaker Ryan leaks to sources got to do with President Trump?

Discussions regarding 'vouchers' is not Medicare, but Medicaid, which is a State/Federal Program, always has been, and States need to step up their game, as to how they contribute, and take ownership of Medicaid for their citizens and others who live in their State, while Feds voucherize payment to the States, and get out of what needs to be a local help program for indigents.

May I refer you to the SIX congressional investigations and their published findings?

The repeated investigations are the result of a conspiracy. The results have all been the same. I submit to you, that if you cannot understand this, you are not bothering to think.
Have you watched the movie "Three days?", and listened to the off record testimonies of those actually involved the the fire fight?

Off record?  Seriously? If they don't have the convictions to say things on the record then they are full of B.S.

I've never heard of a movie called three days in connection with this matter.

Sorry. I miss-typed it. It was "13 days"

The videos you're referring to Lois were already 'strung' together on a Facebook side post. I had no control in separating them. Besides, ridicule and showing stupidity are two separate matters. I was merely showing how common sense, education and political preferences don't go hand in hand, particularly common sense.Tit for tat so to say....Democrats don't have the exclusive rights to stupidity. I sometimes believe they're close though. :)

It is 8:25 am here in Washington, DC, January 19, 2017.

Less than 28 Hours from now, former President Obama will chopper in former Marine One, to Joint Base Andrews, where he will fly on former Air Force One to golf and relax in California. Hopefully his last flight on the taxpayer dime.

President Donald John Trump will be sworn in at Noon, tomorrow.

Celebrate!

Won't Ryan have to answer to Trump?  They are all on the same team.  Trump has stated in his campaign he will not touch Medicare or Social Security but in the mean time Ryan throws out a hint that Medicare needs "reforming" and one of his ideas at reform is implementing the voucher system.  Somewhere between the two probably is the truth.

I understand that Trump want's to dance the first dance at his inaugural ball to Frank Sinatra's "My Way".  The first line of the song is "Now the end is near ...."

Yup.

I gave some serious thought to having an "End Of The World" party, but decided against it.

I'm sure Trump will have a nice party, but I'm going to do a one man media blackout and watch only pre-recorded films and TV.

Reported on the BBC today:

Obama entered office with an 84% approval rating.

Trump's latest poll gave him 40%.

Twenty hours before the inauguration, that is just insane!

It's even worse than that, IdleBoast. The average of all the polls is about 39%. A mandate this ain't!

Really, Really Unpopular

On the last full day of the Obama presidency and on the eve of President-Elect Trump's inauguration, let's look at where the new President starts in the public's estimation. The answer is, Trump is really unpopular and has gotten more unpopular as the transition has gone on.

We have some new numbers.

CNN: 40% Gallup: 44% ABC/WAPO: 37% Quinnipiac: 37% CBS: 37%

These are dramatically lower numbers than any president in modern polling history. For benchmarks, CNN had Obama at 84% approval, Clinton 67% and Bush at 61% at inauguration. The best comparison here is probably to Bush who lost the popular vote and won in a highly controversial way. Much of what would have been the transition period was eaten up by the recount. Even here, Bush is 20 points higher than Trump.

I'll be driving to Phoenix tomorrow to attend a conference of Kinky folks. Our keynote this year is a Buddhist Monk who was once a gay leatherman.  He is the same Buddhist monk that was attacked and called a "Muslim" by a deplorable that probably voted for Trump.

In some ways I pity Trump.  He really does not see how stupid he is.  For all his claims of being a smart guy he sure hasn't proven it by anything he's said or done.  He has not released his college transcripts, although he demanded that President Obama do so.

He speaks like a guy with a fourth grade vocabulary.  "I know words, I have the best words."

Is he doing this on purpose, or is he really not very intelligent?

Trumps approval rating is some 30 points lower then was Bush.  And he had the lowest in decades at 72%.

Maybe Trump will usher in a "new" Dark Ages for the world...........
He's not smart enough to be labeled "The Anti-Christ".....
But he is dumb enough to be a danger to the world.

Love,
Liz

I agree with you Liz.

I don't agree with those that say the Democrats should treat Trump as the Republicans treated Obama.  Remember how the GOP famously stated that their number one priority was to do everything they could to make sure Obama failed (implied: even if that meant America failing)?

I believe the Democrats should take the higher road.  Their decisions should be based purely on what is good for America.  Work with Trump however when they can, but stand up and be heard when Trump takes action that will hurt the majority of Americans.  The Democrats need to show what "Loyal opposition" really means.

The Rolling Stones made a surprise entrance at The Peoples Concert on the Mall today, joining with Toby Keith, Jon Voight, Sam Cook, and others at the Lincoln Memorial today, and going on now...

Inaugural events have been underway since yesterday around town.

The wreath has been laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington, and people are awaiting a Trump speech this afternoon, and of course this is the middle of rush hour, after which the streets surrounding Pennsylvania Avenue Parade Route will be effectively blocked to North South traffic.

The Capitol Building access street have been controlled tightly, as have all the streets near the WhiteHouse, since sometime yesterday, and for a week or more the manholes in all the Mall, Capitol and WhiteHouse area are welded shut with some manned security and drone security over the entire area.

3000 officers from around the Nation were sworn in today under control of the DC Police Department to assist along with the various sworn officers of this city and the DC National Guard, helping keep order and assist visitors this weekend.

Your tax dollars in action...
