I'ma take a wait and see attitude. It won't take long to get the shape of the horizon I don't think.
Trump has promised that his health care plan is going to insure everybody, and it's going to have lower deductibles than Obamacare. Ryan and McConnell, on the other hand, are drooling like a couple of idiots over the prospect of wiping out entitlements, and converting them into voucher programs which will cover something -- but certainly nothing close to what the current programs provide. Between the two sets of expectations, there's a gulf wide enough to slide a continent into.
Within, I'd guess, the next ninety days somebody is going to feel totally betrayed by Trump; either his Republican cohorts, or the American people who bought into his health care pitch. Only then are we going to have some idea what Trump is really up to.
I'd personally love to see Paul Ryan get dropped into a hole, never to be heard from again. So if it's Trump who does it, I'd have to keep an open mind after that. But I'm not holding my breath or taking any wooden nickels.
