Well actually I think of Bill Gates and microsoft as evil incarnate, but their product does at least work most of the time, and during that time I can get a lot of what I want and avoid the stuff I find obnoxious, so computer very useful (but sometimes a major pain in the ass), whereas television is 99% obnoxious, and whatever I like on tv is available more conveniently on the computer, so I hope I have explained myself.

Define "most of the time".  ;D

Television is 99% commercials and 1% worth what it costs.

I'm considering getting rid of pay TV and just going to streaming everything we want to watch. Not like you need cable or satellite to watch live TV anymore anyway.

Now cue someone complaining this isn't about being a delusional liberal hippy Clinton lover bashing of Trump.

So getting back to the selection of our next president, the only one I have any respect for is Sanders, but I don't see him as holding or drawing the cards that will win a game that has been rigged by the party machine. He does at least have a possibility of making them look like the rats they are to a wide swath of the population, and maybe that is enough to change the game somewhat in the future.

I'm still thinking of voting for Trump, even though I've never liked the guy, because I'd like to see the Republican party go the way of the dodo. He is a fucking imbecile, but still a hell of a lot smarter than dubya. I do give him credit for calling the big boys on their trashing of our industrial economy, and I'm sure that's a big part of his appeal, especially among the unemployed. The enemy of our enemy deserves our support, even if he is a jerk. Plus I'd love to see Cruz humiliated by whatever means, chase him back under whatever rock he crawled out from.

So this is what it all boils down to: choose the lesser evil.

He's old and he's a commy.

The word you're looking for is actually socialist.  Very different thing.

Interesting point to note: true communism has never existed at a level above the scale of a small village or large extended family.  The single-party system of the old USSR ("Union of Soviet Socialist Republics") was not actually communism, but an extreme form of undemocratic socialism.  True communism has no political or governing elite.  As soon as somebody is in charge, it ceases to be "true" communism, which is why it has never worked beyond a single community.

Most likely, Sanders would be classed as a democratic market-socialist, which allows for very free levels of capitalism, whilst providing useful support for those members of society that need it (pretty much what we had in the UK before Thatcher wrecked it by letting the banks and share dealers run amok and opening the way for the underhanded privatisation of health care and education).

He's a commy. Hillary's a lying wall street whore and a witch. Cruz is a womanizing fake religious zealot who would replace us all with Mexicans. Trump is your typical rich man telling people what they want to hear and will fuck them up the ass with a jackhammer the first chance he gets.

Get out and vote though. As if it really fucking matters who you vote for.

"It's on the internet, so it must be true."   :emot_laughing:

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages (undeer the guise of opinion) in an online community (such as a message board, newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

This sense of the word "troll" and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, but have been used more widely. Media attention in recent years has equated trolling with online harassment. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."

I know what you said, dear, but repeating it doesn't make it right, even if you manage to spell it correctly.  You're not the Bellman.

The last couple of posts show you to be what Gina labeled you with.

You lose that bet, as I slightly altered the original post. Besides, even if I had pasted it verbatim, it would neither diminish the accuracy, nor its applicability to your posts in this thread.

Right. Let's get back on topic of people copying and pasting articles off of websites and then saying they can't be trusted unless they're favorable to our opinion.

Enjoy yourselves

Being an ass, like you do, reveals that you really aren't the nicer person you present to your associates, friends, and family.

You reveal your true jerk status here, what you really are. We don't really think you are funny or have any particular insight, nor are your little family vignettes endearing in light of what an asshole you really are.

You will now proceed to show us, in a very trollish way, how you don't care what anyone here thinks about you.

Which is fine. I might venture that most here don't give a speck of sweat what you think.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.
