What is with this obsession with "shit paper?"

People fearing lockdown and not being able to leave the house.  Gotta wipe that butt

Jared Kushner Is Going to Get Us All Killed

Trump’s son-in-law has no business running the coronavirus response.

Politico reported that Kushner, “alongside a kitchen cabinet of outside experts including his former roommate and a suite of McKinsey consultants, has taken charge of the most important challenges facing the federal government,” including the production and distribution of medical supplies and the expansion of testing. Kushner has embedded his own people in the Federal Emergency Management Agency; a senior official described them to The Times as “a ‘frat party’ that descended from a U.F.O. and invaded the federal government.”

But his Coronavirus updates have “better ratings than the Batchelor.”

I don’t think his base is sophisticated enough to know a trainwreck when they see one. More like the indoctrinated faithful. CJ would say that we are living in zombie land. Unfortunately, she seems to be one of the infected.

The GOP plan (along with Putin's):

Get the states to fight over resources to fight the Corona virus. This is a strategy will bring the states into conflict with one another.

Destroy the USA.  Divided we fall.

States rights = Secession.  Or at least an adherence to the electoral college.  The GOP knows it can't win the popular vote.

50 States and 1 District have popular votes, distribute the Electoral totals by State Law, as is detailed and controlled by the U.S. Constitution, and the Winner becomes the United States President for at least Four Years.

That is the American Way. There is no relevant national popular vote, just the winner, and the losers, and only the winner matters.

Of course it's relevant, it's relevant in showing that the mass majority of americans hate trump.

Average polling data for today says 50.3% of Americans disapprove of Trump.  44.4% approve.  Among likely or registered voters, the split is 51.4% to 44.9%.

Trump: Covid-19 and Narcissism at work.

He brags about his ratings, and bumps people aside they really want to hear.  I've noticed Trump openly aggrivated when people ask for Dr. Anothony Fauci.  He's been overshadowing Trump too much, and that is one thing Trump can't handle.

Sadly Trump has proven himself incompetent on many occasions, and the COVID-19 crisis is no different.

Trump has received a lot of criticism for not being prepared for Covid.   The sound bite of "We have 16 cases right not, and next week we'll have none, that's a pretty good job we've done," makes me so upset every time I hear it.   UGH, I get so mad.

But to hear the Michigan and NY governors (and others) time and time again blame the Trump administration for not being prepared is ridiculous.   Should the fed government have been more prepared?  Yes.   But if this stay at home wife, mom and stepmom, saw it coming, why didn't the governors and their administrations?   The governors all had a chance to prepare and they did not.  It's not all on the Trump administration, it's on the governors too.   They could have taken steps to prepare.  But instead, they're all pointing fingers.

It's so infuriating.  They all failed us.

.
You might not know this, but I have a thing for Tom Brady (and Bill Clinton)

...But to hear the Michigan and NY governors (and others) time and time again blame the Trump administration for not being prepared is ridiculous.

The federal government has access to far, far more resources as well as having had the advantage of breifings about the devastating potential and the likelihood of a pandemic, and the states did not. Without adequate testing every state was fighting blind, and good 'ol Orange Julius Caesar was too busy boasting to put any real effort into avoiding calamity. The states could've done a much better job as well, but they didn't have the capacity to produce either tests or ventilators as President Trump was scarfing down fast food and holding rallies (massive contagion events would be more accurate). The blame goes around, but not anywhere near equally.

...It's not all on the Trump administration...

I couldn't agree more. I actually think he's bungled this whole episode far less than many others, but it's still a massive pile of shit he's finger-painting with. I wouldn't assume either Biden or Hillary would've done much better, but I fucking guarantee they wouldn't have done worse, and they would've acted more mature and been about a billion times more honest about it. Some of his supporters clearly intend to defy the restrictions to go get their hair cut, which will most certainly exacerbate an already crippled recovery. His lies are about to cost the lives of thousands of Americans, and he continues to encourage this with boasting; his friends at OAN tell him what he wants to hear and he ignores experts and continues to propogate any narrative where he's winning and blameless.

I don't really like Biden, Sanders or Hillary, but I'd sooner elect the greasy bucket of chicken in his tiny hands than have any more of him than the interminable time we've already suffered as he whined and complained.

Don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff.

Coronavirus government response updates: WH: Trump 'is not firing Dr. Fauci' after he sparks speculation.

The announcement comes after the president retweeted the hashtag "#FireFauci."
