My hope is your Sister, her Dependent, and Mom, find ways to better their lives with the new position and increased take home pay she earned through her hard work.

Could someone please explain to me how a $1.50 per week pay raise (?) is in any way helpful at all....Do the math....40 hours divided by $1.50......WTH......?
Good Luck with that....

Love,
Liz

the assumption is that the raise would be $1.50 an hour. Raising their nominal pay rate to almost above minimum wage.
Sorry. I just saw the Ryan statement. It was $1.50 a week.

Yes, that is a paltry sum. The woman who’s said she got that raise said it would cover her Costco subscription for the year.  It increased her pay by $79 a year.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Trump’s ‘marching orders’ to the Pentagon: Plan a grand military parade

Quote
The cost of shipping Abrams tanks and high-tech hardware to Washington could run in the millions, and military officials said it was unclear how they would pay for it.

Well, our Glorious Leader, Kim-Trump-un must be shown all the adulation and approval. Not applauding his wonderful words is treasonous. And he has all the best words.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Such parades are for insecure nations that need to bolster and intimidate their citizens.

The glorification of the military is also what fascists do.

LOL.....My Dad thinks a Military Parade (that size) is just plain "Bullshit".
And he should know, he's a USMC Officer. I wonder what Katie's Dad thinks about it, as he's former Army.....

Love,
Liz

Personally, if I escaped the draft on some "trumped" up excuse, a military parade would be the furthest from my mind. But as long as he keeps promising to throw billions of dollars at the military industrial complex, I bet the military would create a parade the likes the United States has never seen.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.

Saw a retired general on TV last night that said everyone in the military hates parades.  Everything has to be spit-shined, lots of moving equipment and a whole lot of hard and unnecessary work.  But they should understand, this isn’t about them, Donny wants a Soviet style parade to make himself feel important.

I wonder if Trump will also demand the creation of an elite unit called the "winners" and require that they goose-step.

'I Hope This Is an Instance of Fake News': FBI Messages Show the Bureau's Real Reaction to Trump Firing James Comey

Quote
Over the weekend, we received 103 pages of records responsive to Wittes’s first two requests—messages from FBI leadership around the country and across the bureau regarding the firing of Director Comey. The bureau identified 116 pages of responsive material and withheld only 13 pages, so this material constitutes the overwhelming bulk of communications to staff on the subject of the firing.

What does it show? Simply put, it shows that Ellingsen nailed it when she described a reaction of “shock” and “profound sadness” at the removal of a beloved figure to whom the workforce was deeply attached. It also shows that no aspect of the White House’s statements about the bureau were accurate—and, indeed, that the White House engendered at least some resentment among the rank and file for whom it purported to speak. As Amy Hess, the special agent in charge in Louisville, put it: “On a personal note, I vehemently disagree with any negative assertions about the credibility of this institution or the people herein.”

Before detailing the story these documents tell, let’s pause a moment over the story they do not tell. They contain not a word that supports the notion that the FBI was in turmoil. They contain not a word that reflects gratitude to the president for removing a nut job. There is literally not a single sentence in any of these communications that reflects criticism of Comey’s leadership of the FBI. Not one special agent in charge describes Comey’s removal as some kind of opportunity for new leadership. And if any FBI official really got on the phone with Sanders to express gratitude or thanks “for the president’s decision,” nobody reported that to his or her staff.

Quote
The bottom line is that the documents tell a remarkably consistent story about the reaction inside the FBI to Comey’s firing, and it is not the story the White House has told about an agency in turmoil. It’s very much the story, rather, that McCabe told the Senate a few days after Comey’s dismissal. Someone, the documents show, stood before the American people the week of the firing and told the truth about the FBI. It just wasn’t Sarah Huckabee Sanders or Donald Trump.

White House officials knew about Porter's abuse allegations and scrambled to protect him

So now we like pedophiles, wife beaters, and Nazis.  Too tired to repost, but a Fox News consultant who said Hillary should be jailed, plead guilty to fraud and theft today.  Going to do hard time.  Also falsely claimed to be a Navy SEAL for years.  Stolen valor.

Top White House officials knew of abuse allegations against top aide for months

Quote
The FBI had contacts with the ex-wives a second time, in September. Willoughby alerted investigators Sept. 22 that she had received a call from Porter the previous day, demanding to know whether she had used the word “violent” with the FBI to describe his behavior. Porter was angry, she said, that he had still not received his security clearance.

Three days later, the FBI again contacted Holderness, she said, asking whether she had been contacted by anyone regarding Porter. She said she hadn’t. The FBI also asked Porter to explain Holderness’s black eye, according to a person familiar with the conversation. It’s unclear what he told investigators. He has privately told others that they were arguing over a vase, and she was somehow hit with the vase.

Why am I not surprised?  Hypocrisy by any other name ....

As for Porter, he could not even obtain a security clearance because of his domestic abuse.  WTF was he doing working under John Kelly?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Donald Trump probably could not get a security clearance either.

Trump’s Kentucky Campaign Chair Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Trafficking

From the article:

The New York Daily News reported that Nolan had a total of 19 victims dating back to 2004. While the victims’ information has not been publicly released, some of them included children below the age of 18. Judge Kathleen Lape said Nolan threatened arrest and eviction to force women and girls to have sex with him. Nolan also apparently paid the women and juveniles with heroin and painkillers, and gave alcohol to a minor on more than one occasion.

In a statement following the pleas, Nolan’s attorney, Margo Grubbs, argued that what Nolan did would have been seen as legally acceptable under the laws of a different day and age.

Are you fucking kidding me?

Many Trumpers would use that argument on a wide array of unacceptable things.
