A process crime. Provided higher ups did not lie to the FBI, contacting other Nations, ordering General Flynn to conduct such contact calls, as a Campaign Official during the transition is not illegal, far from it, is routine.

Process crime. Collusion? Nothing seen yet. Guess they have someone else lined up for a similar process crime, and we shall see.

General Flynn is selling his home, no doubt to pay debts; hopefully saves his son further trouble with this plea. Hope he gets a better treatment than did Scooter Libby.

Is this all Mueller has? Time will tell. Manafort and his partner had nothing to do with the election, was years prior, and "on him" if he is found guilty of an actual crime.

Still no "Russia, Russia, Russia", no wrong doing during the Election in sight.

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

Nonsense.  Manafort was a key player with regards to the drafting of the Republican Platform.  You know, the one that took a pro-Russian position on the Ukraine?  You do remember that don't you?

A process crime? LOL. Name me a crime which ISN'T a process crime. Euphemize much?

I'll agree with you, Joan, on one point; Trump has not been charged with or convicted of a specific crime yet. But "yet" is a pretty tiny word to hide behind, and nobody credible thinks Mueller is anywhere close to being finished.

Mueller is mowing through Trump's lieutenants like a weed whacker; I doubt even Joan thinks that Flynn is going to be the last one to fall. Indeed, all the predictions I've read say that what happened with Flynn is a VERY troubling development for Trump, since by letting Flynn skate on the most serious charges, it can only mean that they traded immunity in return for testimony against higher ups. The smart money thinks Kushner or Trump, Jr. is next, and after that, of course, there's only Trump.

Trump may never be impeached; there's no way to tell what it would take to get Republicans to act with integrity. That may, in fact, be an impossible goal. But Trump has already been thoroughly discredited, and I'm pretty sure that history will judge him at least as harshly as it has Nixon. He's a criminal, and a hood, and it he gets away with it, it's only because of his money and power and privilege. Trump is a disgrace to the office.

I agree with NW.  At this point it doesn't matter if Trump himself worked with the Russians to enrich himself at the expense of American sovereignty.  The people Trump surrounded himself DID.  This shows lack of judgement and character.

I am saddened that there are those that would also seize upon Trump's manipulability to further their political agenda at the expense of American sensibilities as well.  History will not remember people like Steve Bannon well.

Did Trump’s tweet about Michael Flynn’s guilty plea just admit something it shouldn’t have?

Quote
A little more than 24 hours after Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, President Trump finally took to Twitter to offer his thoughts. He may wish he hadn't.

In his first tweet on the subject since Flynn's plea, Trump argued that Flynn had no reason to lie about his actions because they weren't unlawful. But it's the first part of the tweet that caught plenty of people's attention.

“I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI,” Trump began.

Except when Trump fired Flynn on Feb. 13, he mentioned only Flynn's comments to Vice President Pence -- not the FBI. In fact, Flynn's contradictory comments to the FBI on his meeting with the Russian ambassador weren't public knowledge at the time. And the current timeline as we understand it does not suggest the White House had direct knowledge of what Flynn told the FBI at the time.

Flynn's comments to the FBI didn't come into the public domain until three days after his dismissal, on Feb. 16, when The Washington Post's Sari Horwitz and Adam Entous reported that Flynn had wrongly denied discussing sanctions with the Russian ambassador:

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn denied to FBI agents in an interview last month that he had discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with that country’s ambassador to the United States before President Trump took office, contradicting the contents of intercepted communications collected by intelligence agencies, current and former U.S. officials said.

The Jan. 24 interview potentially puts Flynn in legal jeopardy. Lying to the FBI is a felony offense. But several officials said it is unclear whether prosecutors would attempt to bring a case, in part because Flynn may parse the definition of the word “sanctions.”

Some see a problematic admission in Trump's tweet on Saturday -- possibly even something that could be construed as an admission to obstruction of justice. Here's why:

The day after Trump fired Flynn, on Feb. 14, Trump urged then-FBI Director James B. Comey to be lenient with Flynn, according to Comey's notes at the time, saying, "I hope you can let this go.” If Trump knew at that time that Flynn had lied to the FBI and was under investigation, the argument goes, it may constitute an attempt to obstruct that investigation.

Walter Shaub, the former head of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, suggested the tweet could prove a major misstep for the president and even that it might have cost any other president his job.

Others agreed, including Lawfare Executive Editor Susan Hennessey, who said Trump's tweet amounted to a "confession to essential knowledge elements of an obstruction of justice charge."

Still, at the time it likely wasn't difficult for Trump and the White House to have surmised that Flynn had been under investigation. Acting Attorney General Sally Yates had told White House counsel Don McGahn on Jan. 26 — two days after Flynn's FBI interview — that Flynn had discussed sanctions on his phone calls with the Russian ambassador. This was contrary to what Flynn had told Pence and opened Flynn up to blackmail, Yates told McGahn.

Yates has said she told McGahn that Flynn had been interviewed by the FBI, but she says she did not characterize for McGahn what Flynn had told the FBI.

“We also told the White House counsel that General Flynn had been interviewed by the FBI on [January] 24,” Yates said in congressional testimony on May 8. “Mr. McGahn asked me how he did, and I declined to give him an answer to that. And we then walked through with Mr. McGahn essentially why we were telling them about this and the first thing we did was to explain to Mr. McGahn that the underlying conduct that General Flynn had engaged in was problematic in and of itself. Secondly, we told him we felt like the vice president and others were entitled to know that the information that they were conveying to the American people wasn’t true.”

So Yates didn't clearly state to McGahn that Flynn had misled the FBI or that he was under investigation, but given the content of their conversation — including talking about Flynn's intercepted communications — it wouldn't have been difficult to come to that conclusion. And if McGahn told Trump about the conversation with Yates, it's likely Trump believed Flynn was in legal jeopardy when he spoke to Comey on Feb. 14.

I get it, you all, or all the usual suspects, do not care for President Donald J. Trump. You will follow in detail any harebrained report and hang your hats on any thread, any statement, or any misstatement,  whatever, to remain focused on the goal of getting a 'do over' of last November's Presidential election. No matter than Hillary is no longer today's preferred flavor, all that matters is distracting yourself, and anyone who will listen, long enough for Democrats to get their collective act(s) together.

I know he is not your grandfather's Republican, and not your grandmother's Politician, and all the usual elites feel the same way you do, and you take their opinions seriously, building to actual hatred of Donald J. Trump.  Willingness to revile anything he says, before he even says it, because, just because...

You are mad as hell, and just not going to take it anymore...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please just get over yourselves, and encourage any Politician you respect, if there are such people remaining in office after the sex scandals run their course, to do the same.  Get behind the United States of America. Pay more attention to what is getting done, that to who is doing it.

We can all quibble about style, and predictable, too predictable actions at times, and need to just focus upon righting the course of the Nation. Draining the swamp, part of which is self draining before our very eyes, as old dudes die off, or resign, or say they will never resign, then leave for whatever reasons, or just don't run for reelection next cycle... whatever it takes, value our good fortune while we have it.

Despite their best efforts, it seems like actual Tax Legislation, reform of sorts for Business at least, and some various changes after 30 years of entangled regulation, that may be actually helpful in the long run, will pass this session.
And be signed into law.

  AFT.

Talk about sausage making, it is difficult to watch, and might happen sooner than later, giving Business a more sound platform from which to work, to produce goods, hire workers in that effort, raise the pay of skilled workers, and lower the prices for most consumers, bringing about a reversal of the past post recession years, finally, without the formerly anticipated pain expected.

Enjoy the Trump Administration, bet on the horse races all you wish. You will win some, lose some, and if not taken too seriously, can actually be fun.

Choose some worthwhile competitive foils for offices across the country,
send money and support as you wish, and may the best ones win.

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

You will follow in detail any harebrained report

This is not a harebrained report.  This comes right from your boy's account.  The DOJ entered a filing that Trump's tweets are Presidential Official Statements.  He's admitting he obstructed justice.

Legal experts: Trump's tweet could lead to obstruction of justice charges

You consistently refuse to provide any credible source that refute any of these reports.  To rational people such as myself and your other detractors on this forum this merely makes you look comical, bordering on crazy.  I'm sorry you refuse to adhere to societal norms with your bullshit but that's really not our problem.

You're unhinged.

A Timeline of Michael Flynn’s Role in the Russia Probe

Quote
Jan. 26: Acting Attorney General Sally Yates warns White House counsel Don McGahn that Flynn was lying about his calls with Kisylak and that it made him vulnerable to blackmail by Russia. (Washington Post: “Justice Department warned White House that Flynn could be vulnerable to Russian blackmail, officials say”)

Quote
Feb. 13: Flynn resigns after press reports that he misled Vice President Mike Pence and other top White House officials about his contacts with Kislyak. (“Flynn Resigns as Security Adviser Amid Russia Contacts”)

Feb. 14: Trump asks Comey to drop the probe into Flynn, saying, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.” Trump denies making the request. (New York Times reports the request on May 16: “Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation”)

Quote
March 31: Trump tweets that “Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse the big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!” (Twitter)

Trump knows that he's stumbling through a mine field with his injudicious tweets, but he's simply not shrewd or savvy enough to run his tweets by his lawyers before sending them.

This man simply lacks the judgment required for the job. Hell, he's going to convict himself.

Maybe Trump doesn't know the difference between a lie and truth.
He's done it so much (Lie) that the line is so blurred you can't see it anymore.
(That goes for both public and private life).

Love,
Liz

Joan, are platitudes the only thing you bring to the table?

Trump made this entire mess about him. He has not brought any policies to the table. He has no solutions, only “we will see…”

We will see what? Empty innuendos? Vague promises?

He has depended on his personality as his main selling point for the last 50 years. Look at his history. He isn’t doing anything different that what he did from the time he entered adult status.

He is the one who is making this mess and demanding all of us to trust him because he is so great. He made this a cult of personality.

The man can’t tie his own shoe laces without demanding praise and adulation.

These are the traits of an incompetent and wanna be dictator.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.
