Why is General Honore in San Juan, PR during a storm cleanup? Last heard his name as the esteemed leader of Katrina cleanup... if that is even over...

that is an assumption. The tweet said nothing about his location.

If not in San Juan, PR, why would a retired General know where the mayor sleeps?  Will presume he is in SanJuan, PR, so presume he knows what he is talking about... maybe he will offer her a better place to sleep.. and water so she does not need to drink from a creek... unless she does not drink from a creek either...

Let us hope San Juan, PR, and all of PR accepts the benefits given by the United States, comes to appreciate the efforts and expenditures of materials, risk, and assistance from the United States, and swallows their own bile, rather than being political about everything, biting the very hand that feeds them.

Oh, and maybe the PR government can scare up some drivers, and workers, who cannot do their regular jobs, to assist in saving their own asses.

Hope we can cut off communication between San Juan and meddling U.S. Democrats, as well. Well, I can wish, right?

Let me explain this, which isn’t an arcane secret.

Honore is a retired General, he has been doing the same job for Louisiana that Buchanan is assigned to do in PR. He is the expert right now. Buchanan likely has had several discussions with him about the situation, likely problems and roadblocks and the like.

Secondly, he is very probably been told by those on the ground what the local officials are doing. Coordination between local authorities and relief forces is extremely important. Knowing the physical location of these people is paramount to maintaining communications. A good leader will be where the communications are, where they can influence the action, I.e., sleeping on a cot in the local HQ. besides the mayors house may not be habitable, it could be damaged and flooded.

Third, these are military men. This is how they think. They don’t go all cowboy and and act independently without close communication and coordination. I have spent my years growing up with these men around me. I learned to think like them. The mission. They focus on that, then live and die by communication, coordination and logistics.

It doesn’t take a brilliant mind to understand that there are no clear roads. That many if not most of the heavy lift assists in the ground were damaged or rendered inoperable by the storm. That the people who normally drive them as well and most of those who would repair and clear roads, fix the lines of communication, those who staff the support organizations, are all trying to keep their families safe and fed, and are not available as in normal times.

Add to that they and their families are displaced and not in their homes.

It matters little that there are 10,000 troops in the island. They have to first clear roads, set up distribution points, set up and organize local communications. They have to locate where the people are, determine how best to get to them.

You underestimate what it is they are trying to do.

Lastly, this not our first rodeo. We know that a disaster of this magnitude takes massive support efforts and a lot of people.

We knew this was going to be another Katrina, yet this administration waited to act for over 10 days. Did not say that help was being organized and directed to PR. They were prodded and cajoled into doing it.

Trump and his advisors didn’t think. They should have been mobilizing as soon as the extent of damage was relayed, within the first two days after the storm passed PR.

Second, for Trump to go VACATION at a sumptuous Golf resort speaks volumes about his mindset. A leader, a LEADER would not have left the White House, removing themselves from the center of his communications network to enjoy fun and games while his people are suffering a major disaster.

This is a prime example of the “Let them eat cake” mentality of those separated from reality.

What makes a good leader? What makes someone a person that inspires loyalty and encourages others to sacrifice?

My father put it succinctly as this. Sharing the same food, and dangers of those whom you lead, of assuming more than your share of the risk. Of leading from the front.

My father said that the junior officers who where subject to fragging in Vietnam were those who routinely sent others into harms ways and refused to lead them personally. While it is not reasonable to expect the POTUS to clear the roads inPR with his own hands, it is reasonable to expect him not to think of and satisfy his own pleasure in an extravagant way like Trump had done. Nor is it unreasonable to expect him to have responded quicker than 10 days after the fact,, and it is reasonable to expect him to be a man, accept the responsibility for his administration dithering until there was a public outcry at the lack of relief. Instead he chose to protect his fragile ego. A real man, a leader would have said, we screwed up, we are coming.

But that didn’t happen.

Let's go to the wayback machine, shall we?

Where exactly was the President, minute by minute, as Americans died, and what exactly was he doing?

Why was Susan Rice the person sent to give a false narrative to 5 Network shows that first Sunday following the Benghazi terror attack, as U.N. Ambassador? Why not Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, or another State Department spokesperson?

Those are a few of the questions for which no believable answers are forthcoming, along with the necessary followup questions, and lacking truthful and supported responses, the investigation continues.

Meet hypocrisy in action!

Maybe because, unlike Trump, he cares enough to find out.

Trump needs to keep is orange trap closed and his tiny fingers still until he knows what is going on.  Then maybe he can speak for the nation and not just for his own stupidity.

SNL’s Michael Che unloads on Trump, calls him ‘cheap cracker,’ ‘b – – – -‘ over Puerto Rico

Quote
After showing and reading the tweet in which Trump accused Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz of being “nasty” and attacking him because Democrats told her to, Che says, “Oh really, Donald? You b----.”

He continues:

Was she nasty to you? How nasty? Are you shaking? You want to go smoke a Virginia Slim until your hand stops moving? This isn't that complicated, man. It's hurricane relief. These people need help. You just did this for white people twice. Do the same thing. Go tell Melania to put on her flood heels, get some bottled water, some food, pack up some extra Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl T-shirts, and write them a check with our money, you cheap cracker. In one month, you've mishandled Puerto Rico, DACA, the NFL. It's like when anybody darker than your golf pants has a problem, you're thinking: How can I make this worse?

Angry New Yorkers say Obama pledge
to cut red tape ignored by FEMA

By Perry Chiaramonte

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiHr3PHRCKY
... the best speaker on this YouTube Vid starts at 6:49... Enjoy!

Storm-ravaged New Yorkers say President Obama’s promise to cut red tape and get them aid in the aftermath of Sandy has proven to be hot air.

"...Aiman Youssef, who has been living in a tent since the storm hit, said he is worried about health risks.

“FEMA ain’t doing nothing,” McGrath added. “They keep going around in circles.”

Angry citizens vented at FEMA officials at a town hall meeting held by the disaster relief agency Thursday, with tempers boiling over. Some 1,000 people, many left homeless by the Oct. 29 storm, attended the meeting at Staten Island’s New Dorp High School. They were initially scheduled to submit written questions that would be picked and answered at random, but the session turned into an angry shouting match where residents booed FEMA officials and accused them of lying.

"I told the president … that FEMA was giving us the royal finger. And he said, ‘FEMA works for me.’”

- Scott McGrath, Staten Islander left homeless by superstorm Sandy.

“We are the people – we are the middle class, and we are getting the finger,” said frustrated resident Scott McGrath, who personally spoke to President Obama and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo when they came to Staten Island to inspect storm damage earlier this month. “You were there when I met Obama, and I told the president … that the middle class was getting the royal finger. And he said, ‘FEMA works for me.’”

“FEMA ain’t doing nothing,” McGrath added. “They keep going around in circles.”

The storm made landfall on the coast of southern New Jersey and traveled north, leaving a swath of death, destruction and darkness. Some 125 people were killed, including 48 in New York. It's been estimated that half of the city's deaths occurred in Staten Island. Millions were left without power for weeks by the storm, which also caused widespread gasoline shortages.

Obama addressed the nation from FEMA headquarters in Washington on Nov. 3, promising to cut red tape and bring the full force of FEMA to hard-hit residents.

"What I told the governors and the mayors is what I've been saying to my team since the start of this event, and that is we don't have any patience for bureaucracy, we don't have any patience for red tape, and we want to make sure that we are figuring out a way to get to yes, as opposed to no, when it comes to these problems," Obama said.

On Nov. 15, Obama came to Staten Island, where he repeated his pledge.

A top FEMA official said agency workers understand the public's frustration, but he defended their performance in the wake of the storm.

"We have already put $700 million directly in the hands of victims," Michael Bryne, federal coordinating officer for FEMA told FoxNews.com. "In my opinion, I think that reflects a minimum of red tape.

"In the days after, we surveyed the damage from helicopter and for every home we found completely damaged, we immediately sent a couple months' of rent assistance before we even had inspectors on the ground," he added.

Byrne said more help his on the way, adding that the agency has 3,000 families enrolled in its shelter program and is working with the city on providing a rapid repair program to help get people back in their homes while longer-term repairs are completed.

Thursday's meeting was organized by Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro, many of whose constituents have been left without homes, food or clothing. The auditorium was so crowded that many people were turned away at the door. FEMA officials dutifully absorbed the gripes, took down contact information and promised to meet privately with homeowners.

But residents showed little confidence that the agency would help, and they said they've been left to fend for themselves.

“Our communities are helping," said Nicole Chati, to cheers from the audience. "Red Cross comes by, rings our bell, says, ‘Come get a hot meal’ and leaves. We help each other and that’s what we want to do, but we need your support.

“These people are frustrated," she added. "Lives were lost. My house ... I can rebuild my house. My neighbor is dead.”

Aiman Youssef, who has been living in a tent since the storm hit, said he is worried about health risks.

“The air quality in this town is very bad," he said. "We are sick. What can you do about it?”
