In addition to being another pathetic dead end venture, with the usual suspects throwing the "T" word around for Donald Trump Junior, the weasels here in Washington are attempting to skuff up Donald Junior, private citizen, who has shown some interest in Politics, and Winning.

What is not to like, if you have a willing Press to print breathless stories with smoking gun Headlines, over trivia from the New York family of a long shot presidential Candidate a year or more ago. A two-fer, keep him in check, put this youngster in his place, who does he think he is, anyway.

The ranking member on the House Intel Committee, ranking member on the Senate Intel Committee, and wanna be VP loser of the 2016 election, willingly sucking up time on the MSM shows, to be quoted, buff their bonafides prior to 2018... the usual.  With no downside, no one to check the leakers and bitter losers, why not!

Hillary Rodham Clinton is not the President, and she never will be. Some folks need to get used to that, get over it, an let the ridiculous events they have set into motion play out.

Du vermisst den Punkt. Unser Führer ist Trumpf. So dass du besser lernen musst, dass es keinen Dissens gibt. Ist alles klar

It's tempting to poke fun at you for this feeble attempt to change the subject and distract from the stories which are filling press today (including the right wing press, I might add). But really, when I think of it, what else can you? You backed a turkey for president, and after this week's revelations, it's looking likely that he's going down.

Well, you could have simply kept silent. That would be the prudent path, and it would have left you with some measure of integrity.

Instead you play Pollyanna while Trump's entire narrative collapsed under IRON CLAD PROOF of collusion between his campaign and the RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT.

All in all, this hasn't been a great week to be a Trump apologist.

Now we know the Trump campaign repeatedly lied about Russia

Quote
The Trump Jr. e-mail chain released Tuesday creates the biggest crack in the Trump operation’s credibility thus far. It puts a more ominous cast on all of the events that followed, including Trump’s dismissal of FBI Director James Comey in May.

Despite repeated claims of “fake news” by Trump — and despite claims they knew nothing of Russian involvement in the US election — Trump’s closest advisers, his family members, had evidence to the contrary. It’s right there, in the e-mail exchange.

But just over six weeks after the meeting with the Russian attorney, when hacked DNC e-mails began to emerge on WikiLeaks, those who participated in the meeting were adamantly denying there were any ties with Russia.

“That’s absurd,” Manafort told ABC News on July 24. “There’s no basis to it.”

The same day, Trump Jr. rebuffed Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook’s claims that the DNC hacking may have been orchestrated by Russia as a plot to help Trump and hurt Clinton.

“Well, just goes to show you their exact moral compass,” he told CNN. “I mean, they’ll say anything to be able to win this. I mean, this is time and time again, lie after lie. . . . It’s disgusting; it’s so phony.”

“He should be ashamed of himself,” he continued, referring to Mook. “If a Republican did that, they’d be calling for the electric chair.”

The drumbeat of denial continued after Trump won the election.

Asked if anyone in the Trump campaign had contact with Russians trying to meddle in the election, Kellyanne Conway told “Face the Nation” in December: “Absolutely not. And I discussed that with the president-elect just last night. Those conversations never happened. I hear people saying it like it’s a fact on television. That is just not only inaccurate and false, but it’s dangerous. And—and it does undermine our democracy.”

Judge Gorsuch. Winning...

I suppose, but look what it cost Republicans to get a single Justice appointed to the Court:

First they stole a vacancy from the Democrats, going against tradition which goes back as far as I've been alive at least. But they can only pull this once and gain an advantage, because Democrats will follow suit, refusing to consider any Republican candidate in the final year of a term. Over the long term, this will hurt Republicans as often as it hurts Democrats.

Long term, this will not benefit the Republicans, but they have changed the character of the Senate significantly and the judicial confirmation process in particular. They will, of course, be reminded of this when the shoe is on the other foot. They can expect no mercy, and no compromise of any sort.

I don't think Democrats, when in control of the Senate, will allow ANY Republican nominee for the Court to advance UNTIL THE STOLEN SEAT HAS BEEN RECOVERED. If I'm right, then Judicial confirmations (and I suspect most other confirmations too) will become a form of uncompromising open warfare between the parties. Again, this will hurt Republicans at least as often as Democrats.

And finally, in order to get Gorsuch appointed to the Court, Senate Republicans had to do away with the filibuster on SCOTUS nominations -- one of the last remaining tools which allowed the party in the minority to slow down a nomination with which they disagree. This move will also come back to haunt Republicans when Democrats will no longer feel ANY need to consider their concerns when Republicans are in the minority.

That's an enormous amount of political capital expended, and a tremendous amount of institutional destruction to simply put a Justice onto the bench.

I suspect that Pence may get a vacancy in the final year of Trump's first term which he will want to fill before he relinquishes the office in 2020, but the Senate -- in the hands of the Democrats after Trump's humiliating removal, and after Pence's shameful act of pardoning the entire Trump family -- will be in Democratic control. Not only will Pence be denied his victory, but when  the next administration appoints three ultra-liberal candidates in a row, Republicans, still in the minority, will be unable to oppose any of them because of the tricks they pulled to steal a SCOTUS seat when McConnell was in charge. They will scream for a return of the filibuster, and attempt to blame Democrats for how cruel and ugly American politics has become. Same as it ever was.

So, yeah, grin now and pat yourself on the back. Just remember the costs will come due down the road, and not only will they be paid, but they will be extracted with the heel of a boot, and without the slightest regard or courtesy or regard for the minority party. Karma's a bitch, and we will be reminding you at the appropriate times.

That's not what I would call winning, anymore than I would call getting into a car crash plastic surgery, despite the fact that stitches would be involved.

  Hillary Clinton is not President.

Tim Kaine is not Vice President.

The Star Wars bar scene is not the Hillary Cabinet.

The Biden Rule was observed by the Senate in 2016.
Chickens coming home to roost.. a little bit, eh?

SCOTUS is restored to where it was when Judge Scalia died.

Next SCOTUS vacancy will not be more of a fight than the last one, with
Democrats attempting to corrupt Republican Members to collude with them and block any Trump nominee, or any Republican nominee, Pence, whoever.
What is new there?

Blowing out the filibuster rule was a Harry Reid action, with McConnell taking a predictable response to the intransigence of Chuck Schummer, et. al. There should be no mercy for the next few Justices appointed by Donald Trump, and whichever Trump follows.

Was there a Democrat Agenda to help their constituents, and the American people, before Hillary crashed and burned, and spoiled the party in November?
Looks like not, as they are full bore chasing Unicorns, hoping to confuse their voters and get them to bother coming to the polls in 2018.

I am hoping for a robust Republican Primary season for many RINOs in both the House and the Senate as the weasels are flushed into the open view, and we shall see whether the public buys this nonsense today, enough to brave the elements in November 2018.

More leftist ideas are welcome, please.  I see only one bite was achieved by the latest "impeach" proposal by Democrats... still reality prevails, sometimes.

I was an FBI agent. Trump’s lack of concern about Russian hacking shocks me.

Quote
To understand their perspective, consider this happening in the context we normally think of as a national security threat: Imagine that during the 2016 presidential election, a candidate publicly invited the Islamic State to bomb the Democratic Party headquarters. And then imagine that such a bombing in fact took place, resulting in the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. Now further imagine that the new president not only had no interest in learning more about who caused the attack or bringing them to justice, but in fact went out of his way to make nice with the Islamic State and offer them political and diplomatic concessions. Finally, imagine that there may be evidence that members of the president’s campaign or other American citizens were actively or passively involved in facilitating such an attack.

Screaming "Hillary Clinton is not President" is probably not going to be a valid defense for breaking the above law.

Judge Gorsuch. Winning

You really don't get it. It's not about winning.

The nation as a whole is under threat by an incompetent clueless, and arrogant administration. An administration that is likely to self-destruct as criminal charges creep closer. If things go further, Trump will be lucky to get off with impeachment,. If it gets worse, he may be tried for treason.

It's not about winning.

It's about the rule of law, American values, the Constitution. These are things, Joan, that you seem to not be able to recognize. Which in and of itself is VERY troubling.

B.S. Katiebee, and you know it.

Treason? come on...

When will Loretta Lynch testify before the Intel Panels... Republicans seem not to care enough to handle themselves at times.

We will see how it all turns out, and other than the current 'firing squads', there will be no Trump treason charges or convictions, now or in the future.

Lots of treason activity from the past Administration to address, of course.

Whether or not Trump, or others have committed crimes or punishable offenses isn't even up for discussion.

They have, the problem as I see it is that despite the continued reveals of duplicitous behavior nothing will be done.

We've seen it happen with past incompetence, I don't see why it won't happen again.

Just curious Joan.  You once posted that you are to the right of Atilla the Hun. (or am I misremembering?)

As for Atilla, he was neither right or left.  Such concepts were not known in Atilla's times.  But still, what exactly about 'ol Atilla do you consider right-wing?

And how do you feel about Adolf Hitler?

Yes, but Atilla was progressive....(LOL).....he would ride into a village and kill everyone and destroy everything. Thereby leaving no adversaries behind to have to re-conqueror.
