See, now here's the point:

If Allah does not exist, then neither does the judeo-christian "God", because they are the same being.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all "Abrahamic" religions.  All three trace their origins to the Abraham most people reading this will know from the old Testament.  A devout member of one faith should accept the reality and validity of both of the others, as all three worship the same deity.

The so-called "war against terror" is, if you squint, actually a civil war.

I disagree. In lieu of calling it religion, call it faith and belief. If I was in a Budda temple, I would respect their rites but would not have the belief. Same with a mosque and Allah or Mohammed etc.

A great point, Staci, and very well stated!

interesting questions, concerning Islam, Judea-Christian being the same God. But is not so, as Muhammad created the Islam faith by reforming the Arab polytheism, and adopting one of the Arab gods, "Allah". Muhammad also adopted the polytheistic temple Kaaba to be a center of the faith.

Initially, pre-islamic Allah had 3 daughters, here is a link to one of them, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-%E2%80%98Uzz%C3%A1 . Then this was denied as false, and Islam requires the claim Allah begat no one, as Islam cannot tolerate Christ as a possibility of being begotten of God.

The time of Muhammad, Christianity was gaining ground, the Jews were dispersed in many Arab communities, and Zoroastrianism still had influence. The Arab polytheism, was loosing ground.

Muhammad and his follows claim that they are the same God, so as to make a "newer is better" claim. Most Christians and Jews who are educated do not accept this, as the Quran text is clearly the work of a lunatic, and the literary quality compared to the old and/or new testament is lacking. The history of the early fathers taught by Islam is frequently out of sequence. This is due to the Arabs limited understanding of Judaism as well Arab culture that did not have understanding or practice of placing history in chronological order.

Muhammad wanted to unite Jews and Christian under Islam, and gain their wealth. When Muhammad was unsuccessful, the first war, and violence between Jews and Muslim began. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_of_Banu_Qurayza. So this is where the war started between Islam and the Jews.

Zoroastrianism is truly interesting from a comparative aspect to Judaism and Christianity, and there is a better case that they share the same God, then Islam and the Judea-Christian faith. Zoroastrianism was an important part of Persia, which is now nearly defunct faith but still around in some parts of India. The Zoroastrians were persecuted or force to convert during Islam expansionism.

Here's an interesting question:

If you are a believing christian, do you believe that Allah exists?

Who is to say it is not the same God, but just given a different name due to Geographic and Religious differences?  Catholics and Evangelists both believe in "God", but worship in totally different ways.  One could even take this further, still, and say that polytheism isnt all STILL thew same God?  If you look at old and new testaments, you may think we were dealing with two gods.

Agree. Go back to the Viking era and they prayed or served their God(s). Did Odin evaporate when civilization advanced?

Then you have the God(s) of Rome and Greece nearly identical but with different names for them. Not to mention the God(s) of ancient Egypt, all of them gone into oblivion.

Love,
Liz

I talked to God this morning.  She said she really doesn't give a shit what we think about whether she exists, or not.

"Oh God, I'm Cumming"......is not necessarily the talking to God that we imagine
 :D

The downfall of the Vikings was Christianity. Probably a more detailed history is needed for my statement but that is simply what happened.

God... Lazay-Faire...Chaos theory.  Is it so hard to consider BOTH God AND science exist at the same time?  I myself am what I consider a Modern Catholic.  I dont think the Bible should be taken word for word, but for interpretation, and it is the lessons contained therein that are of matter.  I think too many people rely on God and their faith to handle their own problems.

We are, advanced, intelligent creatures.  But I doubt we will ever truly figure out, "what started it all".  Big bang theory... Ok.  Matter is neither created... nor destroyed... so how did matter get here?

Gods, create and destroy matter.  And until we can manage that, I cannot say we can rule out God... Allah... or any other diety of your choosing.

Very profound, but what is a Giggity?

http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/television/tv-news/watch-stephen-fry-has-some-tough-words-for-god-in-interview-with-gay-byrne-30950896.html

Stephen Fry has some tough words for God in interview with Gay Byrne

And Fry has some harsh words for God when Byrne asks him what he would say to 'him, her, or it' if he encountered them at the gates of heaven.

"I'll say, 'Bone cancer in children?  What's that about?  How dare you?  How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that's not our fault.  It's not right.  It's utterly utterly evil.  Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid god who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?"

Bryne replies with, "And you think you're going to get in?"

"No.  But I wouldn't want to.  I wouldn't want to get in on his terms."

I'm not sure if this video clip will be viewable to all, I hope you can hear the full response to question asked.

my uncle was presbyter of all of the southern Assembly of God churches and I grew up with that... I am an agnostic which means I dunno.  I'm sure if there is a god that I probly am not on a level to understand  him/her !  I watch cartoons on Sundays so I can have imaginary friends too.  What I know about religion is that hypocrites offend me. Sometimes I aspire to being wonderful and sometimes I fail even that. Of course it would feel better to know or believe but I also fail at that. There are a lotta words that describe not believing and believing  and some people wonder why I don't trust them > hell sometimes I can't even trust myself .......I wish you all the very best of luck with your wonderings and wandering but most of all I wish you are happy with whatever you choose to think.  As far as the man who wondered about sexual perverts  even daring to talk about this subject ?? pfft yr an idiot ! (yr not alone ) I wandered by this site to find a story from deedee and found some weird and sometimes very insightful humans who may enjoy their sexuality but found there is sooo much more to them which I enjoy. Thank you (perverts) humans who I have found here .. unsure that is proof that there is a god but let me go with that if I have to address this subject.  I was young and now I am not as young. If I had any advice  = it would be to be bolder and do more and don't leave anything behind that you might regret NOT DOING silly me hmm. One last word ... do me a favor - (us) don't leave anything on the table

If god exists I really doubt that any of us can understand god. Like asking a celibate person questions about sex seems silly but asking Jim Baker about god seems silly too.
