The minute she texted "You sound like you don't want to" that was when he should have said adios!

Toe, quit trying to look in my window at night!

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Yup.

And I don't think this is necessarily 'loneliness'. It's possible, but could also be that she is a young woman who has been raised spoiled (attitude 'entitled' , instead of 'earn stuff') and isn't used to not getting her way. I've seen girls lead guys on all evening just to get free drinks the entire night, baiting the guys and then just saying 'bye' at the end of the evening. Now I know the guys shouldn't be so naive as to keep buying them drinks, but I've always found this very shitty behaviour on the part of the girls. I always paid my share as that's how my parents raised me.

Everyone has experienced that moment you first realize you are not irresistible, and having someone tell you that they frankly can do without you and your bullshit, is an eye opener.

Some people handle it with grace and a little humility.  Others, like this girl, go batshit crazy.

Wow, I just found out I didn't scroll all the way down. She sounds a bit like a former girlfriend of mine (although this example is more extreme) who was raised by a dysfunctional single mom and seemingly wasn't used to being called out in general on her bullshit. The friendship ended when I finally called her out. Lots of texting drama which I ignored. Don't know what became of her. Hope she grew up.

He hung in there WAY longer than I would have.  At around the time he said "I think we're done talking here, bye!", I'd have blocked her number.  Successive texts and calls would have gone into the digital-toilet (drop call, no response).  Most people give up after a few of those.

I'm a bit sensitized to the 'crazy bitch girlfriend' scenario because I had to call 911 and tie them into the conversation when some gal tried to pull that with a guy I worked with.  I'd fielded the call when we knew what was going down.  He was young and impressionable, and would have fallen for that "I'm gonna kill myself" crap.  I, on the other hand, had the cops show up at her house after a few more minutes with the 911 operator listening to the conversation as I was telling her that there was NO way that her beau was going to answer the phone AT WORK to this type of abusive and psychotic relationship, and threats of suicide aren't very endearing.  He had a restraining order put out on her after that incident, at my urging.  They waived the $25 fee.

Remember the Golden Rule: you do me, and I\'ll do you (paraphrased)
