I'm not having any of my needs met.

She's been gone for 9 days and I feel lost, depressed, out of sorts, desperate, sad.

She texted me today and I was so happy.

She won't be back for another 21 days.

I'm likely going to lose it and shoot someone.

I feel for you, Katie.   Stay strong, sister.   
With Michelle we were rarely apart in almost 20 years - maybe a week apart at most.   Now in this new, budding, long distant relationship, time away from her is difficult.   Luckily, with todays technology, we're taking advantage with facetime and by other means, but of course it's not the same.   I'm a person that craves physical interaction, even if it is something as simple as holding hands, so it is tough.   Luckily I'll be down in NC next weekend.   The longer you're apart, the sweeter the reunion. 
I hope these 21 days ahead of you go by quickly for you.

Hang in there Katie.  Ask your father for some comfort as he probably has been on deployment and missed his home and loved ones.  I have been there, done that, and yes, it is survivable.  Not necessarily fun while it was happening.  Meanwhile, take comfort in knowing there are people here that will support you.

I'm probably the worst person to be posting in this thread as a month apart is like a walk in the park for me. The first two years we were together we only saw eachother in the weekends due to his job and he was away for three weeks on a regular basis. The first time his job settled into a more regular schedule, we actually needed to 'acclimate' to eachother. Had several fights due to not being used to spending so much time together. LOL  And we still love the 'sweet reunions'.

He's been away for a maximum of 6 months before and I've found that the last month is the worst, regardless of whether it's been 4, 5, or 6 months. It's that the army has this lovely 'tradition' of toying with the 'coming home date', to the point where I wanted to scream at them: "I'll send a fucking box with DHL and get him out there myself if you are so incompentent at keeping a date fixed!" LOL

So uhm, curse a little and look forward to the sweet reunion?
