I would like to reserve my judgement on this incident until the investigation is done. First off, do we know that the entire raw footage has been shown on the various news networks? Remember the Rodney King incident and how the footage of that was manipulated?

Since the Officer in question here WAS charged with First Degree Murder, I would be VERY surprised if he doesn't serve some serious time. But let the Justice System do it's work here please. I want to see the result of the Internal Affairs Investigation first......

It's hard to judge just what happened leading up to the shooting itself. Since we haven't been shown the whole amount of footage that was turned.over to the Investigators, we won't know until we see it........

And that statement alone was pretty much my only point. We get 30 second comments about white on white or black on white around here on the news but when it's white on black, no matter the reason, it's half hour special programming

Sure, I'll provide those Statistics....

According to the latest DoJ "Crime Victimization Survey" and the Uniform Crime Report" both for the year 2013, African American Males between the ages of 16, and 30, were responsible for nearly 40 percent of reported Violent Criminal Activity. According to the latest Census Data, they comprise 18.68 percent of the General Population.

According to Police Data, gleaned from various Arrest Reports, the same.demographic was TEN times as likely to become violent while resisting Arrest. This was found in the F B I Criminal Database.

The fact that a 50 year old man was shot to death under EXTREMELY questionable circumstances has the General Public believing that ALL My Brother and Sister Officers act like this Cretin did. The Dash - Cam footage of the Traffic Stop that preceded this Incident is to be released today, perhaps it will shed some more light on the events leading up to this Tragedy...

I would not disagree with you Tony other than the fact that these type of stories are now coming out.   All still needs to be reviewed and investigated but sounds like the officer in question has a past history of being a bit "aggressive" on the job!

Every time an Officer draws and fires his or her Duty Weapon, there is an immediate Investigation by both Internal Affairs, and here in FL, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. BOTH Investigations are extremely in depth, covering EVERY Case the Officer worked on. ANY and ALL claims or Charges against the Officer are Investigated. The shooting itself is painstakingly gone over, and EVERY available witness is questioned.

If the results Warrant Criminal Charges, they are forwarded to the District Attorney. If not, the Criminal Investigation is concluded, but the stigma of having taken a life will haunt the Officer for the rest of his or her life. Even if the shooting was clearly justified, the stigma is nearly impossible to deal with.....

The days of sweeping things under the rug are over, and they shouldn't have been tolerated to begin with.....

as with Bergdahl, perhaps we shouldn't prejudge him before his trial.

Bergdahl may have had a good reason to desert his post as this guy may have had a good reason for shooting an unarmed man in the back 8 times or so.  ;)

We were all scared about "big brother" watching us, (The govt)... We didn't stop to realize little-brother had an i-phone and a youtube account...

When god fails, science wins... again...

Scientists have a god, it is called reality. They worship it, believe in it, and it saves more lives than any god ever has.

Now, if we would just learn to stop killing each-other... (Religion/law/society fail... time for science to step-in to the rescue!)

We will always kill, it's our nature, it goes back to pre-historic man.
if we are not killing ourselves, then we are killing something else, it's a circle that was set into motion millions of years ago, and it's not going to change anytime soon.
