If a loud shouting group of Black Lives Matter thugs were on your porch at 3am, Lois, I expect you would react by first getting your firearm in hand.

No, I would call the police.

Both of you are correct really and saying the same thing just Lois seems to hold tightly to her stubbornness. Calling the police is a given or should be. Making sure you and yours are protected by what ever tool you have to give you the advantage is important as well. Calling the police is more for after the mob leaves or after the actions taken in self defense. This man was protecting himself and his from potential danger and potential threat to life so I agree, good on this man. We don’t know what’s in another’s heart.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

The protest was against Jaclie Lacy's failure to prosecute cops who kill.  They were protesting at the curb when two of their number went ond knocked on the front door of the residence.  Jakie Lacy's husband opened the door brandishing a weapon and threatened to shoot constitutants that were asking Jackie Lacy for a community meeting about incidents were cops killed black men.  They did not threaten anyone.

The incident was covered by the local papers in a fair way, and Ms. Lacy took a hit in the polls.  She is running for re-election as County Prosecuter.

The police were called, but no arrests were made because the protesters were on the sidewalk (public property) and it is not illegal or generally considered threatening for two people to stand on a porch while knocking at the door.

There was no mention if noise ordinances for a residentail area were violated.

Border Patrol Agent Stops Knife Attack in West Texas Sam’s Club

An off-duty Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agent stopped a knife attack in a West Texas Sam’s Club store on Saturday night after hearing a scuffle. The agent quickly took action and disarmed the man who allegedly attacked multiple people, including a small child.

Shortly before store closing on Saturday night, an off-duty Border Patrol agent assigned to the Big Bend Sector heard a commotion in a Midland Sam’s Club. The agent began to search for the source of the noise and came upon a man who was actively stabbing multiple people with a knife, according to Big Bend Sector Border Patrol officials.

The man, later identified as Jose Gomez, allegedly stabbed multiple people including a small child, officials stated. The Border Patrol agent drew his handgun and identified himself to the alleged attacker as a law enforcement officer. He ordered Gomez to drop the knife and held him until local law enforcement officers from the Midland Police Department arrived and took custody of the suspected attacker.

“The quick action of our Agent ended this shocking situation and clearly saved multiple lives,” Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak said in a written statement. “I’m proud of our agents as they are valuable members of our communities. This is another example of how we protect America.”

Border Patrol agents provide additional law enforcement and first responder support to local communities. Frequently, Border Patrol agents are first on the scene of major car crashes in rural areas and routinely back up local law enforcement officers in dangerous situations.

“Without regard for his own safety, the agent’s willingness to intervene and end this dangerous situation allowed the injured to receive critical medical care in a timely manner,” Big Bend Sector officials stated.

Two of the people allegedly attacked by Gomez are listed in critical condition. The third victim is in stable condition, officials stated.

Gomez is being held by the Midland Police Department as the investigation unfolds. Officials did not disclose a motive for the alleged knife attack.

So are we all pleased that our Border Protection Officer was effective in stopping this criminal activity, and saving the targeted COSTCO shoppers, children.

I'm just glad no deaths were involved and the knife guy will face justice.

Indeed, there was no shooting through doors or other stupid shit.  A trained officer with a gun used it appropriately, and no one got hurt.

Neighbors Run to Aid of Man
in His 80s, Shoot Attacker

HAWKINS9 May 2020

Neighbors of a man in his 80s who came under attack intervened Thursday night and shot the alleged attacker multiple times.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the incident occurred just north of Cartersville, Georgia, around 7 p.m. The attacker allegedly knocked on the door of the elderly man’s home and “assaulted…[him] with a board.” (Fox5 reports the alleged assault was carried out with a “metal pipe.”)

When neighbors came to help, the attacker allegedly tried to attack them “with a metal post.” He was subsequently shot.

Fox5 reports that the neighbors who intervened were a father and son and that they were alerted to the attack by the scream’s of the elderly man’s wife.

The elderly man and the alleged attacker were both transported to hospitals to have their injuries treated.

The suspect “is charged with burglary, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal trespass.”

It is sad that guns are more likely to kill in accidents or suicides than by good guys in self defense.

A Pembroke Pines man who tried to be an armed robber became a shooting fatality before dawn Sunday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

BSO says Stephon Brown, 34, walked into the Valero gas station at 2400 W. Sunrise Blvd. around 5 a.m. and pulled out a gun to rob the place. The clerk pulled out his own gun and fired, hitting Brown several times.

Brown managed to get out of the Valero and across Northwest 24th Avenue before falling on the sidewalk in front of a McDonald’s. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue got Brown to a hospital, where he died.
