He killed the assailant with a single shot, the only shot fired at the assailant. However, as a daughter of a responsible gun owner I have my own views on this subject, but perhaps if you didnt bury a logical argument under a temper tantrum and mountain of insults, you may have better luck getting your point across.

I’m a responsible gun owner too. Each time I buy a gun in my state a background check is done to make sure I’m not a criminal or nuts.

The point GB and toe were making that escapes this person above who intentionally and repeatedly gets my name wrong was the shooter in this instance was judged mentally incompetent in a criminal trial in 2012, so should never have been allowed to buy a gun, and the person who shot the shooter had been law enforcement acting as security, so hardly a random ‘good guy’. 3 dead is hardly a ‘good’ outcome, when this was easily preventable by not allowing someone judged mentally incompetent at a trial by a judge to buy a shotgun.

I too am a gun owner, I own a Springfield 1911A1 45 cal. pistol. I served 6 years in the united states army as military police (31B) basic and AIT in fort Leonard wood Missouri, duty stations in fort Carson Colorado and fort stewart georgia and spent one year overseas at Bagram air field back in 2004.

I gave you no glimpse of my opinion but you assumed one for me, I didnt say your insults weren't protected, just that they're not necessary. Nothing I said was to take any side in this matter, just that you may be better served with a calm head. I thought perhaps taking the approach I did would somehow soften things, I assumed wrong.

Homeowner shoots at armed intruders, suspect dies

DANVILLE, Ill. (WICS/WCCU) — A home invasion turned into a deadly shooting in Danville Sunday night.

Danville Police were called to the 1000 block of Franklin Street around 8:30 p.m. Sunday for a reported home invasion with shots fired.

A 31-year-old Danville man told officers several people wearing ski masks, armed with handguns kicked in his door and tried to rob him.

The homeowner armed himself with a handgun and fired multiple shots at the suspects.

Police found one of the suspects lying inside the home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A ski mask and handgun were found near where the suspect was found.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Jordan Valdez-Parrish of Danville.

The homeowner told officers there was at least one other suspect who came in the front door, but then fled the scene when shots were fired.

The suspect who fled the home hasn't been identified as of Tuesday afternoon.
