Point is, neither myself nor apparently any of my white neighbors felt the need to send this young black teen on his way with a shotgun blast.
Sounds like a nice neighborhood. I'm currently parked in a mostly Latin area. Can't really call it a "Neighborhood," because it's zoned Commercial/Industrial, not Residential. District? IDFK, but my Espanglese is getting a workout, so there's that.
I moved here from a predominantly Melanistic neighborhood. Low income, but not particularly high crime. Honestly, in the 3 years I was there, (Parked between a radio tower, and a Beer Store) I heard gunshots about 3 times, but one of those incidents was being woke by the gentle dulcet tones of Flashbangs from a Police Raid.
I can't park in nice neighborhoods. I'm undesirable there, granted I fit the profile of a homeless man in an unmarked van, who writes stories about incest, and child molesters on the internet. So, people might get the wrong idea. (Honestly, I'm terrified by children. It's irrational phobia, I know they can't harm me, and that only makes the Panic Attacks worse.)
I've never opened fire out of fear against anyone that just looked like a threat. All the times I've fired in Self Defense, as a civilian, it was against an act of aggression. That asshole reacted with Fear, and chansed him out of his yard, firing at his back, in a residential neighborhood. Because a black kid got lost.
It's only a "Nice Neighborhood" if you're Welcome there.
