There is no rule posted about whether or not a person can post their own email address on the board. The "rule" came about because of spammers who would join the board, make one post with their email in it, then never come back. It was certainly never meant to rob author's of what little payment they get for writing stories.
When an author posts a story, the email address that they post along with it is often the only thing denoting authorship or ownership. To censor an author's email address from their story post is asinine. It sends the message that authors are not welcome here.
If an author's email address is censored from a story, it makes the story that much more susceptible to theft and plagiarism. If a story is copied from here, an author used to be able to hope that at least their email address might stay in the body of text, and they might still get feedback from it, wherever it ended up at on the web.
Due to the board's current policies, guests are unable to view profiles, thus they have no access to any contact information that might be posted on an author's profile. If a guest were to be so inclined as to join the board in order to send private feedback, they would not be able to until they made X amount of posts (whatever it is now).
If the policy of KB is to not allow authors to post their contact information within their story posts, I will not be posting a story here ever again.
Why are moderators censoring the authors that post here? How much contact information has been stripped away from the story boards so far?
