I'm getting a lot of these calls since Harvey.  You are not obligated to pay rent on a residential lease, if the leasehold is rendered uninhabitable.  You can terminate the lease and walk away.  If you don't want to terminate the lease, or if you want to effectuate repairs, you have to keep writing rent checks.
