I'm in east Tennessee. This is the belt-buckle of the bible belt where the most common sound you might hear is the urgent thumping from the religinuts. When it comes to the word of tax-free profits, I mean God, it doesn't get much more prevalent than here.

Yeah, he's equally as bad as the previous asswipe.  I didn't vote for him, needless to say.  :roll:

From that last article that Toe linked,
"It is not acceptable that people of faith be exposed to such abuse," he continued. "Displays of hate and intolerance against people of faith should be denounced by all people of good will and spark concern among anyone who believes in religious liberty and freedom for all."

In that entire tirade he's waffling around, trying to use RELIGIOUS FREEDOM as an excuse for County officials to NOT give out marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

So, he's saying it's OK for his ultra-Right religious nutbags to discriminate against the LGBT crowd, but not the other way 'round.  Jeebus on a pogo stick, he ought to be a firm follower of Sharia Law, then.  It's pretty much the same as his ultra-Right stance.

If you're so close-minded that YOU WON'T DO YOUR FUCKING JOB because of your quaint and unsupportable religious beliefs, then you need to get a different job that doesn't expose you to *reality* and *life*.  Move those few people OUT of the marriage license bureau and into DMV/DOT or something less disturbing for them.

As well as the RIGHT to visit your Significant Other in the ICU.  I've heard that being denied to gay/lesbian couples because "you're not immediate family..."

If ever there was a *need* for a friendly face, the ICU is near the top of the list.
