You see, because I was talking about Football, which is a whole 'nother sport.  Thanks for sharing, though.

I’m from one of the western counties, Maryland Appalachia sandwiched between West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Well, I was born in Arlington.  So, that's similarly sandwiched between the rest of the District of Columbia, and the rest of Virginia.  Also, my favorite place to eat crab legs was the Chesapeake Bay Seafood and Buffet, but that closed down.  Now, ironically the only Chesapeake Seafood House is in Illinois.

When I was young it wasn’t a buffet, and you had to order your ‘all you can eat’ from the server who would bring you portions that got smaller with each request.  You could order anything of equal value or lower, so crab legs could also get you shrimp, clams and etc.

Among the many times I went there (in Arlington) was once with a friend who ordered the cheapest thing on the menu of trout at $4.99 all you can eat.  Every time the server came by, he got another trout, a beer and a bourbon.  Eventually the trout he began stuffing in his pocket, just consuming the beer and bourbon.  Later while I was driving on the beltway, he drunkenly went to light a cigarette and reached into his pocket looking for a lighter and pulled the trout out all over the inside of my truck.

LOL!  Okay, well it's a good thing he wasn't driving!  Yeah, that place was great.  I loved the whatever you ordered, and anything of equal, or lesser value thing, too.  IDFK the last time we ate there, but it was definitely before they added Buffet to the name.  I was looking for the Chesapeak Seafood House when i found the one in Springfield, but it couldn't have been any later than the early 90s.  That's when I moved away from North Carolina.  Regular trips to the Smithsonians became a little less viable from Santa Fe, Portland, Maple Bay BC...

I hope we don’t confuse people in a thread about Texas by mentioning an Arlington a wee bit north, just not so far north to make it Yankee.

Arlington Va.  Not Arlington Texas.  That's like a whole 'nother country!

I just stopped trying not to confuse people.  I suck at it.

Wasn’t it Cheasapeake Bay Seafood House?  My mother lived in Seven Corners for years, and she and her friends would go in there with ziplocks in their purses.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.  It changed, so now that's in Springfield Il, and they changed the one that's actually near the Chesapeake Bay to a buffet, before it closed for good.  So now, if you search for the  Cheasapeake Bay Seafood House, you only get results for the one over by the Great lakes.

Kinda like the "Texas Steakhouse," I worked at.  (In Garner NC)

No, he was way worse that that, both in how drunk he was and how much fried greasy trout he managed to get all over my truck seat, floor and dashboard.

One other time when I was about to drive us from a bar, he vomited a dozen or so melon ball shooters all over the dash and windshield.  I didn’t mind that as much for two reasons:
1. He slowly open his mouth and the gravity defying projectile vomiting looked like Godzilla with dayglow lime green fire shooting horizontally from his mouth.  I was too fascinated by the color and being drunk too just said, ‘Wow, that looks so cool!’
2. It was my brother’s car.

My ex threw up a huge coctel de camarones (shrimp cocktail, seafood, avocado, red sauce, seafood bits) all over the floor of my car.  Never fully got the smell out.  What pissed me off is, I warned her at least three times to hurl before getting in the car.  I knew her.  I knew the warning signs.  She didn’t make it to the first stop light.  Fuck me.

I finally just sprayed a bunch of air freshener and sold the car.  Ugh.

Whoa, turn down the volume a little bit.  ;)

Well that poor little bulldog was scared to death.  ESPN replayed it in a loop about 5 times the other night while Mark was watching sports center.

Congrats to the Texas football team and fans.
Did you see the Michigan thumping?  Yikes, 15-41 slapdown.

Only in Texas do we have a mascot that can Trample other team's mascots.  I guess we're fortunate that nobody has the State Rhinos.

Hook 'em Horns!

And just recently Georgia players were trolling the lopsided victories in the playoffs implying they should have been there.

PETA has called for and end to the use of live animal mascots after this incident.

Good!  I seriously doubt they'll be listened to this time, any more than the last Several times they said it, but it shouldn't take a cute widdow puppy to see that there's a fucking Bull rampaging through a crowd of People there.

There's a special kinda stupid in Texas.  Generally, somebody has to Die for them to realize how poorly thought out that "Tradition" is, and even then, they might err on the side of Tradition.

That's a Bulldog.  You know why they're called Bulldogs?  I'll give you 3 guesses.  The cameramen, plural, nobody seems to care about them.  Maybe it's not confined to just Texas, after all.

Nobody listens to PETA.  I sure don’t.

Consider the source, but don't kill the messenger.  That's going too far.  Just because PETA said some things, from feeling, instead of thinking, doesn't mean they're always wrong, or we never have to listen to them.  In fact, if you try to ignore Activists like PETA, it just makes them yell louder to get their Message across.  Block traffic, and even resort to Property Damage.

They have a point, even for the wrong reasons.  Letting a Bull run around a crowded stadium is a bad idea.  If they're one of the ones pointing that out, I'll agree with them, because they're Right.  Even if it is PETA.  I'm not going to ignore them, until they're forced to release that Bull on the street to find a China Shop.

Or shit on your parade.  If one of their players was trampled, I would think UT would care.

Any group that goes to the extreme with me on their views loses credibility with me even if they do lots of good work.

I’m a gun owner that’s taken a few NRA classes on gun safety, and think that’s excellent work they do in that area.  But I believe their extreme political views and irrational approach to gun laws make them dangerous activists/lobbyists for the country.

PETA is a hell of a lot less dangerous, but still.  They let the kooks in their midst run things.

It was an isolated incident.  They’ll either retire this Bevo, or drug him, in the future.

And yes, PETA has a point.  But Texas isn’t particularly famous for its compassionate conservatism.  George W. Bush be praised.

Absolutely PETA has a point.  I think the point I’m trying to make is people hear ‘PETA’ and it elicits eye rolls followed by the people ignoring them (even outside of Texas).  If they want to be relevant, then be reasonable.
