Today, my leg stopped feeling like it was eternally on fire. Knee still locks up, but its not so sudden as it was. Also Amy is starting to move in this weekend, the paperwork was approved and no one scared the interviewers badly. Family still isn't contacting me and I found five dollars and the snack machine gave me a bag of mixed nuts on top of the whatchamacallit I bought!

Woo!

This is actually a neither here nor there situation. I get my mail 5-6 PM. A letter from the VA, "We've been trying to call you about the at home nursing but you didn't answer. Refusing service will be reported to your Dr."

A lie, they called on the 6th, but I missed the call because I was in the restroom draining my bladder when they called, but then I immediately called them back.

So, I called early this AM. The nurses were supposed to be coming out, starting on the 12th, so the person I spoke to said she would shoot those folks an email and find out WTF. In any case, on the 2nd, the pharmacy at the VA gave me three large shopping bags full of wrappings, dressings and such. A "silver oxide" dressing has decreased the size of the wounds and stopped most of the drainage.

I’ve had a headache for five days, and finally took some aspirin. This is the best I’ve felt in a week.

I take so many other medications, I just hate to add to  the number. So you know I was in agony if I did this. But it worked.

1) I was taking an Uber to the store this morning. An SUV suddenly roared up from our right, crossed three lanes of traffic and got in the left hand turn lane of the intersection causing my driver to say "Some people don't know how to drive." I recognized a small decal near the license plate. "Actually, he's an undercover cop" I replied and as I did, he shot across the intersection, going against a red light. "Doesn't give him the right to drive like that" she said. I then explained about departmental policy and the meanings of Code One, Code Two and Code Three. As we arrived at our destination she was still fuming about the whole situation. Most likely the detective was racing to be back up at some kind of confrontation.
As far as the driving, people would be amazed to watch the driving portion of the academy. There is always one or two that get "tunnel vision" during a pursuit and seriously damage their police units. Because of my military background prior to the academy, in my pursuit phase I drove the instructor into a migraine because I used the Hi-Lo variation on my siren instead of the usual whistling noise heard from most electronic sirens nowadays.

2) I was supposed to start at home nursing on the 6th. They finally called at 10 to tell me that they would be here at 2.

Nurse was at least 6 or 7 months pregnant when she arrived. Apparently the company subcontracted to this is now committed to come out 2 to 3 times a week. Geez, where ya been?

No-oly crap have I been gone far too long!!!

Hope you are all having a great start to your new year. Been a hell of a busy week for me and my friends and family.  I've been to non-stop get togethers almost since Christmas. Spent the last two days down in Milwaukee with my best friends. New years eve and new years day was spent in doot county with Allan. We were supposed to go watch the cherry drop, but decided that taying inside and having sex was a much much better way of ringing in the new year. Something special about being on top of your man while fireworks are popping off outside.first time I didnt see him react from all the booms and pops.

Hope you all are doing fantastic!! :emot_kiss:

Well, Amy had a good first day at private school. My Great Aunt really stepped up for her, and she said everyone in class was cool with her. Though learning the layout was hard, she managed to get through it.

When I got home she talked to me about it, and I was happy she was fitting in.

Also at work I finally got them to push the family and worker weekend to after the superbowl. They wanted this weekend and I was like not on wild card weekend. They quickly agreed.

Yesterday was pretty good. Also Queen has made up with Sam over his near temptation. They were cuddling in the warm garage this morning when I went out to defrost my suv.
