The rain that came through yesterday evening.  So much rain.   And the storm passed through taking every single cloud out of the sky.  Perfect cloudless sky today. 

An early dinner with Dans side of the family, then home to watch Survivor tonight.

My interview went extremely well yesterday. I spent an hour with the two leading partners of the firm and the Director of HR. It was an incredibly pleasant professional and social connection.

My only fear is that I talk too much (surprise). But I’ve been sitting home alone for two months, and it was so pleasant to spend time with people whose personalities and interests meshed so well with my own. We had very many things in common.

I’ve always joked that my back up career will be in stand-up comedy, so I had everybody laughing a lot. I just hope that doesn’t come back to haunt me. The best interview strategy is to get the interviewer to talk about *themselves* and then convince them you think they are the most fascinating person you’ve ever met. That didn’t happen, although I had thoroughly reviewed their educational and career backgrounds and we talked about that.  One of the partners had named his son after a favorite law professor and mentor of mine.

We’ve had several emails since then, and everyone agreed that we have synchronicity. They said they’ll let me know by next week. So I just got a hang on seven more days. I NEED THIS JOB.

As Shiela would say, "oly chit." What a clean house we have and we're just starting. Company is still working on a schedule.

Hoped we'd get the lady who came today on a regular basis.but dang, she's booked solid. Guess they snuck her in today to get things rolling.

At least we know what to expect and what they'll do for me. Tomorrow I have a nurse coming to check vitals, pills etc. That will happen every other week.

It's like nothing, nothing, nothing, and BOOM!! Lilacs.

Every time I step out from work, and when I open my windows at home, the smell of lilacs is instant. It is a shame, it'll be gone in a week. I enjoy it best I can while I can.

So proud of my baby boy. Cum Laude grad UT Austin, Phi Beta Kappa, Liberal Arts Honors, Distinguished College Scholar, School of Government and International Relations/Global Studies. UT Law this fall.

We got up at 5 am to be at the ceremony location by 7:30 a.m. The graduation went off without a hitch. No protestors or disruptions. He’s worked so hard for this. It was very gratifying to watch him enjoy his moment in the sun.

Congratulations, proud daddy!   You were a large part of him being successful.  So happy for the both of you.


What made my day.....The Northern Lights.  We could see them a little bit with the naked eye, but putting the camera on a tripod with 30 second exposure, we got some good pictures.

Same here. On our walks, the smell of lilacs is everywhere.  Sometimes it can be a bit overbearing but beats the other smells of a big city.  8)

Toe -  A proud moment as father when a child succeeds at whatever they start out to do. I have been to three college graduations and one Master's graduation. We were not only proud of our children but of all the graduates, many who were the first in their family to graduate from a university.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.

What made my day yesterday.  My children.  Not one was actually born from me, but they are mine nonetheless. I love all three of them. They all make me feel wonderful. What a difference a few years make when it was just me, and now a full house.
And the youngest who did this on her own. Preface it with saying Dan and I over the last year and a half have needed some time away for my mental well being. So we retreat to our cottage 200 miles north. During that time, the oldest has cared for the youngest. Helped her with school, shopping for her, all the things she can't do for herself.  Well, yesterday, M received a Mothers Day gift from the little one.  A home made card and a gift.  It was so sweet.
And the middle one. We started off on such a rocky footing. I wouldn't call us besties, but we've come a hell of a long way.

Went into a conv store this afternoon and my change from the purchase was .50 cents. I told the Hindu clerk to give me quick pick (pick 3) for exact the numbers 666, Just looked and guess what?? $250, woo.
