Hope you have an absolute blast with your party, and the clean up us swift and easy.

I myself have been MIA because my bestie Shannon and her husband are going to be adding to their family. Between the three of us, Shannon was the one who would most likely become a mom, and it's finally going to happen. Been off celebrating with them. I could not be happier for her. Shes nervous and worried about being ready, but we are getting to that age where if it isnt now, it may be too late. Don't want to have to use a walker at her kid's highschool graduating.

She is going to be an awesome mom, and I can't wait to spoil the hell out of their kid!

Party is tonight.   Cleaning the house (again) day, mainly floors.  Wood floors throughout.  AND, it's raining! Yay.   Some last minute food prep.  Was dying the deviled eggs filling green for a touch of Christmas color a bad idea?  beginning to think so, too late now.   Otherwise, I'm in good shape.  First guests at 6:00pm.  Party-party-party.  Get up in the morning and clean the house again.  Like washing your hair. Wash, rinse, repeat.

How exciting! Auntie Sheila (She-she for years one through 3.). I was Aunt Lala to my friends children for the first few years.
I never had children, but I enjoyed the hell out of my friends pregnancy's and watching them grow up. I know you will enjoy it also. The great thing is, you'll get all the fun times, wind them up and when you're out of energy, you can walk out the door and Shannon is left with that little monster that still is going 110 mph because 'she-she' would her up.

She's already setting ground rules. Boundaries are important!! No pumping her/him up with sugar and then leaving. No getting her/him all excited before bedtimes. All that kind of stuff.

Yeah right!! Like I'm gonna listen to that nonsense! You'd think she'd know me by now LoL!! I spent about three hours online shopping for gifts, even though she's less than two months pregnant. Didn't buy anything though, just filled up the "shopping cart" but didn't purchase. I cleared out the cart after the excitement, and tequila, got out of my system.


Green deviled eggs... maybe if you could decorate them to look like the grinch.?.? You've got enough to do already though.

Party went great.  We played white elephant gift, which was a riot.  I didn't drink much. Stayed hydrated.
My 'maids' were so worth it.  Kept the place clean instead of me chasing down empties. 
I had some of my best bourbon out, but the big his was vodka and cranberry juice. 
Sams Club had bacon wrapped shrimp, that were delicous, with the girls bringing out a new wave every 20 minutes for the first two hours.  Bacon wrapped jalapeño peppers.  Ham and cheese mini sandwiches, lots of snacks foods.  Everybody brought something to share. 
Last two couples left at 2:00am, and we were in bed by 2:10am.  I didn't sleep that great, but I was in no hurry to get out of bed.  10:30am.  Did a bit more cleaning, then a nap at 1:00 while Dan turned on the games.   I've just been tired all day.

Lions lost, but we were in too much of a zombie like state to care.   Just chilled all day.

I figured the party would be great. So glad for your success.

Next year I plan on making the trip to Michigan. If nothing else I can serve and clean. Even towel boy if needed. :D :emot_kiss:

I don't make deviled eggs frequently enough to know the recipe by heart.  And it's not in my recipe book.  So as always, I google how to make the filling.   The recipe I came up with had sugar in it, which I have never done before.  So, why not.   They were delicious.   Quite a few comments on the green food coloring.  It just looked off.  But they looked good on the platter.  Used a dozen eggs, so 24 half eggs.  End of the night we threw out 4.  So they were enjoyed.

Very happy to hear it was a blast. I too was wondering about those eggs. Never made them with sugar, but I've got my recipe memorized so I dont ever look for new ones. Might try a dash of sugar.

Thanks, it was so fun.

It was Saturday, so you know my memory might be off.  I think 1 tsp, and 1 tsp salt.  Too comfy under a blanket watching house hunters to get up and look.  I printed it and stuck it in my recipe book, made a note to go with half that amount of salt. in the recipe.  Will make again for Xmas and report back.

Somewhat more mundane, but I successfully replaced one of the the fan/motor combinations in our double oven. Worst part was manouevering it single handed, even though it is floor standing.

I love fixing stuff that would cost an arm and a leg to have a repairman fix.   Youtube is your friend.  I've replaced pulleys and drive belts in the dryer, and a motor pump in the washer. 
Dan is always like, I know a guy I can call.  I say, "Go get me my toolbox".  Now I have him do them.   Watch YouTube, don't be overpaying someone else to do it.

My attitude entirely, MJ.  It's terribly difficult to get a repairman even to visit in the UK.  Nobody wants to do practical courses, it's all media studies.  :( Yet a craft apprenticeship is so much cheaper to attend.

Wife, daughter and I went out to lunch today. We were celebrating our December birthdays. All three of are December "babies".

Enjoyed great meals. Daughter added things up while waiting for our food.

Between the three of us the combined ages came to 216.

Wife and the others are coming home tonight. I succeeded in test deep frying a turkey, in the middle of my back yard, away from all flammable objects. It was a success, so tomorrow, I will do another one, to bring on Christmas day, to annoy my cousins who want faux turkey this year. Not that they are vegans or anything, but because they want a meat free meal. But I have sad news for them, that there will be no meat free options outside of those needed by the family members that need it as a dietary need. Also all my packages came in, and lets list this under "Writer is becoming forgetful." My wife's presents came in, that I had completely forgotten I ordered last month. Welp there goes my retirement. lol.
